@@GamingTopDownI really like the arts and architecture expansion with the new track. I play with them all and the playmat. I don't feel that any of the expansions are must haves, but I play with them all each time.

*I made an error during setup. I should have set out resources matching the unused planets on the ambitions as the ghost player's scoring pieces. I incorrectly assumed it was referring to the printed icons on the ambitions. Didn't matter too much for our playthrough, but wanted to point it out. We also built multiple ships at the same starport a few times, which isn't allowed. Rules, amirite? Thanks for watching!

Just to add to this beautiful review: It is a very tight, medium-weight game. Yet, the other I taught it to a complete rookie in the game world, someone who has only played less than a handful of board games (Ticket to ride: Europe being the most difficult one she has touched) and she almost won the freaking thing, if it wasn't because on my friends realized she could sell some stuff for a better price on her last turn (she won by 4 points). So yeah, it may be a little tough on how much you may have to think at first, but after your first full round it becomes very obvious how to play it. I recommend people to be very orderly when explaining how to play it because it can be a tad daunting at first, but nothing really serious. And finally, don't make the same mistakes I did: - you can sell your goods even if you already used all your action tokens aka all your round dice tokens were slid up. - you can refill the cubes on the last round, what doesn't happen is that you don't get new missions. - don't forget that last round (fifth for 4P, sixth for less than 4P). It might be a little confusing bc of the design of those mission cards, but the last round is still there. - you CAN sell artifacts and handicrafts in the villages, although they'll always give you the least amount of money for them.

I’ve never seen anyone doing 80+, the only person claiming to easily do a 90 on bgg turned out to be mistaken or smth, I don’t remember. 60-80 is more than doable. The main idea is: 1) gardeners earlier, 2) courtiers combined with samurai later 3) you need to put out at least 12 meeples, meaning that every 3 turns you put at least 4. If you don’t - dig for combos and never go for 2 “empty” turns. It’s fine to spend a turn on resources if you really get a lot of them, but then you need to place 2 meeples each turn. You should always take a starting lantern card with additional decree card and then go for lantern and always search for powerful combos. Never accumulate money, they mean nothing. Never take a well explicitly, only from the cards you activate. Almost never use 1 iron samurai space, it doesn’t initiate a combo. 5 iron samurai are the best, tbh. And me personally I never care about moving the courtiers up or gaining influence, that doesn’t really matter, though I might be wrong. Some posters on bgg advice to keep your starting personal pad card as long as possible, what means neglecting moving the courtiers from the gate, I’m not sure if that’s viable, though starting personal pad cards are really good. Good luck in searching for combos, I would be glad to see deep strategy dive from you.

Wow, you've put a lot of thought here! 80 does seem like a tough score to get to, but I'm hopeful that I'll have a really excellent play one day. I'll try to get 12 meeples out next time. I think I only got 9-10 last game. It's a tough puzzle, for sure.
