True, Jason...but here's the thing. We users absolutely hate the product HS has become. What used to be an economical tool that helped SMBs has ballooned into a very expense piece of software that does everything pretty subpar (outside of the CRM, which is excellent). The moment someone comes for this market, they are going to lose massive market share, IMO.

Love it! I find this a great Lens to look through for strategy planning. Of course, network effects are moats too. Eg, many service providers and entities using the same system would provide moats. If the core software architecture is different enough I can see situations that leads to features that are simply not possible for the incumbents to copy because they are sitting on legacy infrastructure. I love #10 (and I loved Canva), but the moment I see that the only way to get onboarded is through sales, I see opportunity to eat some of their lunch. Connected to #1 is also authority on the topic. Or perceived relationship built through social media adds to the moat. Thanks a lot!

I freaking love this guy. I attended SaaStr Annual 2017 while still working at big tech, as a "wannabe founder", just to pre-learn things. I fell in love with sales reading his posts and book - From Impossible to Inevitable. I quit my job, raised a few millions for a startup, crashed it, and now I'm going at it again, fuelled and inspired by content like his. I can hear Jason talking all day. He is logical. He is not on the bleeding edge of VC as he admits, and SaaS is suffering right now in the public markets, but rather than ride into the sunset and count his money - here he is, pushing more content than ever. “Not at all, then all at once.” I’d take very seriously the implications of “user generated software” becoming exponentially better within the next 18 months. A massive amount of software subscriptions becomes indefensible when text-to-software becomes more robust by the week. The idea that you can hire a designer internal to build your marketing materials makes sense. Soon to will the idea that much of the software you need, even as a non-technical company, is available easier and cheaper if handled internally by the smart intern. Or at 90% the price any company with many employees could afford to compete with. There’s a lot to unpack and debate, but I would advise everyone to be extremely openminded around just how solvable most caveats to this claim are by simply applying the same general intelligence to solve it.

Can't stress how important it is to visit customers in-person! One efficient way to do this is to organise these visits in bulk when you're attending a local event or conference. Spend an additional week there and schedule 3-4 visits a day, 3-4 weeks in advance. 🚀

I always like this type of advice. I've done it for a long time but it's always good to reset, re-learn, lean in. Thanks for sharing.

Im not a Trump nor Biden supporter. So, I dont mind saying... Nobody likes Cali or NY. Your taxes are what they are because you break laws of the union. Your state taxes went up. Not your Federal. You just lost deductions from Federal, which I might add, for the last 3 years, the Left/Biden has not changed that either!! Its because the other states do mot support your stupidity. We should boot you from the union and build the wall there. We don't need either state. You need the test of us for food and water. Imagine if we stopped that water flow, we sure can. Yeah.. follow the union laws and you wont have problems.
