I came here to check out the song after watching the 1951 movie Angels in the Outfield. There's a scene where they mention the composer Harry Ruby and this song. Thanks for posting!

I read all the comments here and I had the same experience when I was a kid. What magic was there that we all played it over and over and remember all the words?? Amazing.

My brother-in-law told my husband he should be eating oatmeal for breakfast and my husband told him that oats were for farm animals which led me to think of this song. I google song searched and was able to fund this. When my kids were young, I heard this and I can't place exactly where. My adult children are 34 and 36. I loved this version but my husband was triggered from his Dad's antique phonograph and record collection and not un a good way.

He also recorded a vocal with George Olsen's Orchestra in 1930 titled "I'm in the Market for You." He's singing in the typical high tenor fashion of the time where everyone sounded like Gene Austin

My dad served in the Navy during the Korean War. One night, he and his flight crew walked into a bar in Mobile Bay, Alabama. The pilot put a dollar worth of coins into the jukebox and played this song over and over again.. all to provoke a fight with a bunch of coasties who were there. Once the song started playing for about the third time, a glass beer pitcher went flying, and the fight was on.

I picked up this exact record from my local record store thinking it was that *other* Ruth Etting cover of a song called "I Ain't Got Nobody" (seriously, how are there two!?), and let me just say: whoever put in that piano riff at 1:35 knew exactly what they were doing.
