very nice! 🙂 Though visibly there is no gravitation between two shapes, they live their own lives. It would make the WHOLE thing much more complex

Many... i haven't tried myself yet but a comoiler speed up things for sure..but assembly is the way to go, and to solve the task we need a kind of pre-loadingd/buffering..Main topic of the video though, was to demonstrate the differences of the loading speeds..i used the projects as a vehicle to make things more interesting, sinc it was lying around. But maybe for the future. An interesting topic how to try to make a full screen animation.

Excellent, I had a lot of fun watching that. We didn't really have access to much computers during my initial school years, but when we finally did - Logo was one of the things they taught us. Don't think the teacher understood much of the program beyond feeding us listings, but I had fun playing around with it on the old 286 computers that they had in a lab. Had a Pentium at home so it wasn't completely up to date 😅

I had Logo for the C64. It was a fun, intuitive way for a kid to create graphics on a C64, whose graphics commands were otherwise kinda obfuscated behind pokes.
@GeorgesChannel18 күн бұрын
Its a port form the C64 version. The Plus/4 has a better Basic with graphic commands, but its Basic lacks the turle-graphics. Logo is a great enhancement.

nice fractal, but the source code can't be right. You commented function 1 and 3 with REMs, yet you still select these functions.

If these lines are commented out, every value is zero then. Arrays have per default a length of 10. I found these fractals with a random generator.

Big Mac is definitely much better than on C64, Trailblazer maybe, Kickstart I liked more on C16, and Tutti Frutti was not available on C64 for a long time. Tresure Island could have been even better, more complex, graphically more pleasing. Winter and Summer Events showed that big software sprites were also possible. Auf Wiedersehen Monty is a susprise not in te Top10, why I hated Punchy as a kid :-) My fav on C16 the Magician's Curse, with a perfect software sprite and a little more complex gameplay than usual (kind of action adventure). Space Pilot is also very close (look better than the C64 counterpart, that is even not in spoace :-) ), though the slowdowns did not help to get the arcade feeling. Though I agree, that because of the more available memory the C64 games were usually more complex than the games on the very limited 16KB games. If you check our ZX Spectrum, there are only few, iconic, but very limited games made for the 16KB version. The ZX Spectrum games became grea when the 48KB became the standard. If C16 and C116 would have 32KB RAM, and they could have been easily and cheaply upgreadable to 64KB (and Plus/4 to even higher) it would have been a really different story. But there was no Commodore memory expansion and even for the proper upgrdae you need to cut some wires on the motherboard. Although (strange) the slot shows "Memory Expansion" for a REAAALY long time it was not possible to upgrade the C16 just by plugging in a 64KB memory cartridge.
