I want to write 1:3:6 and after writing, excel automatically puts it in time format 01:03:06 and if I change to any other format, then it evaluates the ratio and giving me 38777 as result in the cell.

I have to search text strings (all different formats) in large transaction files for names, identify them by source (15 different and they change), give the out put a certain code and then sort by source. I have been using the if and search function and it is time consuming, and prone to error to update. This is a much better solution. You have saved me time and worry!
