Deborah is a really good interviewer. She lets the guest talk without interrupting, and when she asks questions, it is clear that she has in mind the answers that the listeners want to hear. She's a very good advocate for those interested in learning about dementia, be they patients or carers.

I'm a little disappointed, it honestly looks like an advertisement for some exclusive clinic, the research is not clear, he can't say much, but they definitely apply an individual approach = a lot of testing and examination and individual advice = good factory for money

Hi teepa. My mother has always been a happy person. She is showing signs of dementia and (is undiagnosed,)and seems to be depressed alot. Her fun personality is quickly turning into a negative personality. We are not allowed to correct her in ANYTHING, If she says the sky is pink then we have to agree with her. I really want to try and turn her back into the laughing clown she once was. Even just to be happy again. Please give me some tips on how I can do this. I'm working during the day and come home to cook dinner. By the time I have to sit and do things with her, it's gone dark and her negativity or sleeping has set in.

Is intermittent fasting the secret to better brain health? Increased production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF): BDNF is a protein that supports the survival of existing neurons and encourages the growth of new neurons and synapses. Fasting can increase BDNF levels, which may lead to improved cognitive function, learning and memory. Fasting may have several benefits for the brain, including: - Increased resistance to stress Fasting can help the brain resist stress, including oxidative stress - and inflammation. This may reduce the risk of brain disorders. - Promotes neurogenesis Fasting may promote the growth of new neurons in the hippocampus, which is involved in learning, memory, and emotion. - Improves cognitive performance Fasting may optimize neuron bioenergetics, plasticity, and resilience to stress, which can enhance cognitive performance. - Protects against neurodegenerative disorders Fasting may help prevent neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's. - Improves physical performance Fasting may enhance physical performance, as shown in mice that were put on an alternate-day fasting diet while training on a treadmill. Does fasting remove brain plaque? Intermittent fasting may improve autophagic functions, which could aid in the removal of harmful protein clumps like amyloid-beta, a sign of Alzheimer's disease. Fasting improves cognition, stalls age-related cognitive decline, usually slows neurodegeneration, reduces brain damage and enhances functional recovery after stroke, and mitigates the pathological and clinical features of epilepsy and multiple sclerosis in animal models.

Is it possible to give us an update on this Sava drug? Phase 3 rethink has been completed and we are waiting on the results. Hoping that SAVA will be option for our love ones. Already lost someone. Hoping to have different option that has less side effects so that anyone can have a safer option for treatment.. Anyway an update would be encouraging.

Is there a more recent update on Lonni? I am 67 and have LBD with Parkinsonism. Symptoms started several years ago with hallucinations. It’s a strange journey.

I'm sorry to hear that. My mother, aunt, and both grandparents died of dementia. My mother only 6 months ago. I've done a lot of research on psilocybin mushrooms and I think it could help. Especially in the early stages. I'm not a doctor, I just have learned about what they do and the possibilities.

My husband was recently diagnosed with lewy body dementia with frontal temporal variant. I've asked the neurologist several times if that means it's fed also. Our first neurologist gave us a diagnosed of fed after over a year of telling us it's just caused from seizures he just started having. I understand these ladies frustration

My mother has Alzheimer’s dementia. She sleeps for 16 to 18 plus. She hates to shower over a month. I’m exhausted. She is deaf or selective at times. She states she does not understand the language. She is contrary to everything. Lately is not eating. She is 86. I have been taking care of Her for 5 years and 6 months. I do the sponge bath. She was bilingual now is native language. However insist on speaking English when people speak in her native language

If they go toMoron ....It is very Easy to get the diagnosis even if the diagnosis is INCORRECT.!!!!! Marwan doesn't care!!!! It is not about the patient it is ONLY about "MORON"

NO, Let ME introduce YOU!!! to the REAL "Moron" Sabbagh He INTENTIONALLY misdiagnosed me with Alzheimer's IN 2016 (it is now 2024 because I refused to take an experimental and expensive drug called Asaii LeQemBI He is the most incompetent and dangerous doctor I have ever met. He refuses to delete his intentional Misdiagnosis which continues to negatively impact our lives. He is immoral and therefore INCOMPETENT.
