When a truck driver has an accident on the ice roads, is the accident recorded by the D.O.T. and put on the drivers record? Or do things work differently out there?

My Dearest Brian, I thank God that He brought us together in Holy Matrimony 41 years ago to travel this journey of life together. You certainly have been my life’s greatest blessing! Together we’ve experienced & learned so much together. What a beautiful thing it has been to be committed to share “It All” together since August 20,1983, when we said our vows together before God & our families. Thank you Brian for your devoted love and unwavering commitment as we have continued to walk together towards the glorious finish line … back to the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. “Together We’re Better! 💞”

What are the checkpoints for? just wondering
@Alaskafamilyman8 ай бұрын
To make sure the vehicle operators are authorized to use the road, that each person in the vehicle has Arctic gear in case their vehicle breaks down, and to account for all vehicles and persons on the ice road. The checkpoints also have a toilet, coffee & water, and snacks such as cookies. Occasionally drivers will ask directions to a drill site or camp after they cross the ice road.

Amazing work capturing this difficult job. one of those rigs resembled a truck train like I've seen in Australia, do they run chains or studs?

How did it work out for you?
@Iceroadtrucker28 күн бұрын
The first half of the season was nice and smooth, but later on, it got really rough. The ice was badly cracked, and every trip was brutal, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Every season is different and full of surprises, but I still enjoy every bit of it.

Enjoyed very much, I had no idea there is flowing water out there!
@Alaskafamilyman Жыл бұрын
Thanks Don. I didn’t know that there was water out there either. I should have mentioned in the video that was the Gila River. Apparently they are letting water release from the dam upstream. I was east of Florence about 10-12 miles. Whenever you get a chance we should go out there, it’s a great place to see some beautiful desert scenery.

It was on that day, with the good weather. A lot of the folks on the trail were runners training for the race on the 4th of July.

Thanks Don, another fun fact is that the U.S. government still funds road maintenance and construction projects on the Alcan. Rightfully so, because a lot of the traffic is US bound
