I am considering a career change and I appreciate the honesty. I was a nurse previously which I found hard to balance with parenthood. I can't be superwoman 24/7 and the pay is just not high enough to justify the stress and pain.. especially with the cost of childcare! I'm starting to see some similarities with nursing the deeper I look at being a paralegal. Yes there are jobs everywhere you look, because turnover is so high! Yes you can usually go to community college to get an associates degree to get started, but the job can be unsustainable due to the stress. Yes there are so many different types of nursing jobs, but all of them have the common thread of understaffing. The appreciation is low and the pay can be low too considering how hard you are working. It's exhausting and inflation has brought the value of money down a lot. I was looking at paralegal jobs in my area and some of them are paying $3 - $5 per hour more than just working in retail! Hard to justify starting out that low and "proving myself" in another field.

I was having difficulty at my first paralegal job. It was for lack of a better word, “clickish”. I started asking my colleagues to call me, “Fat Ted” and from that point on it became all good. When I get to work. The first thing I do is scream, “Fat Ted” in tha house”!

90% of paralegal jobs they don't even offer you a benefits package. Most paralegals jobs the salary is too low. And the pressure is always the same , stress everyday, lack of appreciation... And the firm and lawyers expecting everything for you . Better become a Nurse you want to make way more money 😜🤑💰

I hear you sis, I do. But one thing I've learned about high stress jobs, and being unappreciated is praying more. God has moved drama from my work place or open another door quickly so I can quit time after time. Life is based on experiences and your just liivng yours until you find a place that fits your needs mentally and financially. Im more than confident I'll end up somehwere, that will allow me to excel because God always keeps his word. I hope you already found the job you need and you have some peace of mind.
