A sideslip is used for landing in a crosswind. ... When the wind is blowing across the runway they called it a "side" wind and, hence, the slip used to offset this wind is called a sideslip. This is a "Forward Slip".
@brykalaero3 жыл бұрын
I this country we call it a side slip. Nothing to do with cross wind landings at all. You will notice the trees and power lines. As it is a short grass strip we need to touch down as close to the end of the runway as possible to give more roll out distance if required. The maneuver allows a dramatic increased decent rate to bring the touchdown point much closer to the obstacle we are traversing over.
@AnonyMous-jf4lc2 жыл бұрын
@@brykalaero are you moving forward are to the side? That’s why it’s a forward slip. A side slip keeps the plane straight, but moves it sideways.

@@brykalaero do you leave your boat in the water or do you haul it up my fear is that the wood may break down faster if leave in the water after use although the boat is Fibre glass on the outside I like the design
@brykalaero3 жыл бұрын
@@kenny1992clarke I trailer it. However the 350gsm cloth is glass but the medium used is Epoxy. Just remember the wood is only there basically for the shape and is a core. The ply is fully encapsulated in matt and epoxy. Even the outboard mounting holes are much larger than they need to be completely filled with epoxy then drilled the correct size for the bolts. the timber never sees water. Also if you use the correct paint and apply it properly the epoxy will never be in touch with the water. If you have a look at my KZbin channel there is a construction slide show.

Planning on building one myself how long did the build take roughly and any tips ?
@brykalaero4 жыл бұрын
I will have a look at the dates on the photos. Realy depends on your time frame. I worked on it nearly every day. 5 to 6 days a week 8,9 hrs a day. Be accurate especialy with the lofting. Usè a ball point pen for the lines. On the lofting do not use the weights with the little hooks. There is no way in the world you can sight 2 curves the same. You need a batten that is not to stiff and gives an even flowing curve.When cutting the ply cut upclose to the line then finish to the line.
