do you think that these metal pipes on the steering rack can somehow become partialy clogged, so that they have a worse flow? I would plan to take them off and clean them.
@justdoityourself19 сағат бұрын
Small chance. I would rather believe that rubber hoses can start falling apart.
@joesaric119 сағат бұрын
@@justdoityourself I did a little more research. I think I have a problem with deposits of old oil in the high-pressure valve of the steering column. Therefore, the oil flow and pressure in the steering rack is reduced, which contributes to more difficult turning.

hello and congratulations for the video I am Italian but I used the translator to understand well the dynamics of your video so I bastra first emptyable radiator then fill it close it bring it to temperature until you turn on the fan turn off the machine and then fill the small tank always with coolant up to the level all right? thanks if you will answer me.
@justdoityourself2 күн бұрын
Drain it, fill it up, press every hose to push the air out, run the engine, more air will come out, put a cap back on and watch temp gauge. At around 90C fan should kick in and the thermostat should open. If the temp keeps rising, shut the engine off, let it completely cool down and try again.
@user-Globuloazzurro19812 күн бұрын
@justdoityourself thanks for the answer and I'll make up the comments for the really very instructive video so once filled the radiator I do not put the cap on the engine and wait for it to attack the right fan because I usually attack before the nineties then I put the cap and level the tray right? and I would have finished then I will let you know how it went again.
@justdoityourself2 күн бұрын
@user-Globuloazzurro1981 yes, you want to run the engine with cap off first to allow air out.

Sensor is fine, tested with multimeter as diode showing high voltage without sun, dropping voltage in the sun and even generate electricity in strong light. Edit: the cables are ok, voltage 5V while Consult3 still shows short to ground. In the manual say Replace A/C auto amp.

Use Redline MT-LV 70w/75w. It’s much cheaper at $23 a qt. This covers all Haldex oils. A drain and fill takes like .59 of a qt so even for a pump replacement one qt should be sufficient. I recommend picking up two just in case. You’ll have piece of mind and extra for your next drain and fill. Just be careful on newer years. The Chevy, non Haldex, awd clutch systems use a different fluid. It’s actually an electric hydraulic power steering fluid. It calls for Pentosin CHF 11S power steering fluid. Some equivalents cover this but the Pentosin is about $26 a qt.
@justdoityourself5 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing, having alternative fluid woud be awesome. I checked this fluid specs and it does not mention GM part number, it just said Haldex coupling: GM 10-4037 GM 19259104 GM 19259105 Haldex Coupling AWD Systems Also when I called local seller for Redline they couldn't cross reference.
@alexandergunaka6665 күн бұрын
It’s in alphabetical order. It just happens to be next to GM. It is saying it covers the fluid for all Haldex Coupling Units. This one you show is a Haldex so it would be covered. They won’t be able to cross reference as there were many single manufacturer fluids for Haldex like the gm number. They did not list it. They encompassed all fluids used by Haldex.

Oh Yep always make sure you draw the pulley diagram…. You can even make a small one and tape it to the frame of your car .. I was going through a junkyard looking for extra parts and I came across this car they actually etched it into the frame of the car right where that plastic wheel well piece goes .lol you know they had a hard time because that thing was etched in the metal
@justdoityourself6 күн бұрын
Lol, yeah the diagram doesn't take long but can save the day
@Pinkielover6 күн бұрын
I’ve done this on my car 4 times .. these 2 pulleys don’t seem to last very long.. you might get about 30 K on each set .. also, that’s not the proper pulley tensioner.. the factory one looks much different, beefier, more sturdy looking.. the aftermarket ones are plastic and weak usually.. but these will work just fine because you’re gonna have to replace it anyway after around 30 K or so. The first time I did it no issues… the second time I did it, the bolts head stripped on the idler pulley.. so I couldn’t use a socket wrench.. I got a angle drill head and bit on my cordless drill and was able to drill a hole through the bolt head and then I used a center punch to knock it to the left to loosen it…. The third time was much easier because I brought the proper tools.. and I’m about to attempt it again right now my car is at 91k Since it’s been getting colder here in Arizona it’s making more noise in the morning sounds like a supercharger at cold start up…then around 2k rpm to 4 k rpm sounds like a supercharger type of whine.. also I noticed the idler pulley is becoming polished so pulley is sticking .. I will replace when I start feeling better because currently sick.. but after about 10 minutes of warming up, the sound starts going away because the grease inside the pulley I s warmed up . but you still hear it because I know my car pretty well… so yeah, hopefully when I do it, I don’t have any problems with the bolt… remember, I’m doing all this outside in a public parking lot.. I don’t have a garage, so I have to double make sure I have everything even if things go bad let’s say the bolt breaks .. but yeah, it’s pretty straightforward with the proper tools. Everything on this car is pretty challenging to do because of the tight spaces. But I’ve worked on worse and I’m not a mechanic…. My biggest problem right now is trying to get the tie rod, ends off because the lock bolts they use for alignment. Don’t wanna come loose and it’s not rusted on… when I drive down the road, it rattles like crazy it’s getting pretty bad to the point I’m afraid to drive it that we all might fly off in a different direction..lol so I’m driving very little only when I have to that is another story to get those off.. I might just have a mechanic do it that has a lift… everything is much easier when the car is up on a lift but I’m only to able to lift my car about 14 inches up. Otherwise I’ll have to buy a new jack which is another $200. Might as well have a mechanic do it that has a lift because they’re not that expensive they replace because I already have the parts.. but yeah, I’ve done everything on this car, lower control, arms, upper control arms, both sides, because of the rubber deteriorates in hot climate in Arizona.. engine mounts transmission mounts you name it.. still love the car with its flaws

These XC60s specify 7L (2012 model does), so where is the extra 3L? Is there more to the process?
@justdoityourself23 күн бұрын
With atf fluid change normally you can replace up to 60% of all the fluid. So you need to do it multiple times, until you get to nice red color. Other way would be fluid flush (under pressure) but that can cause more issues.

Oil pressure is higher then coolant pressure, so normally you will see oil in the coolant first. And yes, mostly likely head gasket.

Hey I have a 2012 civic. I randomly get a check emission system, and transmission error popup on my car and it goes away. Yesterday I got that popup and the drive gear was flashing green. My car would not change gears once I hit 60mph (maybe 3rd or 4th gear I am not too sure) The engine rpm was around 3500 and would not drop down unless I slowed down. Drive to the autoparts store and plugged it in and P0843 code popped up and they told me to take it to a dealer to run diagnostics and get it fixed. I already know that bill is going to be pretty high, so I am determined to do it my self. DO you think I need to replace the same sensor you changed as shown in this video? If so, do you know what sensor I need to buy? Im looking on autozone site and it is showing 4 different sensors. Would you be able to help me out and let me know which one? @justdoityourselfАй бұрын
Upstream and downstream sensors work in pair. ECU identifies issue (engine code) by comparison of readings on both sensors. My guess is that 2 old sensors were performing similarly. Now when one sensors is new, the other one is relatively sluggish, so you are getting the new code.
