They had them for $50 last night. Figured what the hell and grabbed one. Two different versions. One for a 5600 and one for the 5610, I ordered for the 5610. Does any 5610 fit the kit?

im no "gold" expert but it is amazing no one can seem to be able to refabricate nibs in a similiar fashion.. the metal blend today i guess and techniques are lost to time? modern flex nibs are pretty sad.

Until the 50s of the ‘900s there were master craftsmen specialized in the production of those nips-joiello, they practiced a whole process that consisted of repeated fusions with oil and other alchemies of various nature. The Parker Duofold is truly a beautiful fountain pen, especially considering the era in which it was originally manufactured. I love its ingenious original ink filling system, far superior to several current systems.

it has a pre-globe imprint, VERY faint, and a Pat 1869 on cap, its correct cap and barrel for early grip feed waterman.

Being that this video is a year old and seems like you have a lot of experience with this mod/repair; how have the buttons held up? Has it affected the watertightness at all? That's the biggest worry that I have about doing this mod.

I did a button swap at least a year ago and have washed hands multiple times a day and haven’t noticed any water damage. I’ve probably wore it swimming and in a hot tub or two as well. It’s still perfect. The buttons are not easy to install the first time you do it though. The clips to hold them in are minuscule. If you drop one on floor it’s gone.

THIS IS NOT A 100 YEAR PEN. IF IT IS IT MUST MARK ON THE NIB.This is an" ideal pen with a - no 4 size pen. It is a good general flex soft nib. Why wear gloves ?????????

@d.4513 keep in mind that not all vintage pens are in working order. The nib could be damaged beyond repair but the handle could be salvaged if the nib can be replaced.

Ive just got the GMD-S5600-1 but want to replace the buttons for gold ones. I have a larger square gshock that appears to have similar sized buttons. Just wondering if i could get some gold ones designed for one of the square models that would fit my GMD-S5600-1?

I've done a button replacement on mine too. The clips are so tiny if you drop one anywhere it's gone.

@@bakedthepotato5489 yes check ebay item 403958641840 this is what you would need to even apply pressure on all sides evenly and add some heat.. should snug up the fit.

Great pen and great handwriting. My mom and dad both had these pens in different colors. They gave them to me in late '70's but I lost them when moving my office one year...maybe '82. A bummer but it did fuel my love of fountain pens.

I don't understand this. You only compare visuals, but not the quality. Why didn't you show how much both bracelets move sideways to see how good the links were put together? And what about the connections on the cheaper versions? Are they spring bars? And what about the weight and the overall feel?
