Great idea! I’ve been trying granular manganese and magnetite in a clay body but not getting the melt results I’m after. My studio bisques to ^06 will that work? Curious what grade steel wool you like to use? Thank you for sharing!

for your screen, just wrap it over the top of the bucket and tie with nylon cord.

That oatmeal glaze without the root heal and manganese is exactly what I'm looking for God I can't believe I stumbled upon this is there any way you could give me that glaze recipe or point me towards it? I saw one on glazy but it wasn't as good as the one you just showed in the beginning of this. I know it's a lot to ask but it would really be helping a guy out

i will be happy to share the recipe with you. it is an old Carlton Ball cone 10 recipe that I reformulated for cone 5 - 6. 50 years ago. It has been in use for all that time. I will copy it from my send it along tomorrow.

@@freemanloughridge5915 oh my God I am so excited it is absolutely perfect for my intentions. I am extremely disabled and pottery is the only thing I'm able to do cuz I can sit down most of the time. My life was basically over after a rich career and I rediscovered pottery from my youth. I got myself a wheel and a old kiln and a friend help me rebuild it brick and all I scrimped and saved and purchased a Scott wall mounted Kiln controller which opened my world up. So if there's any specific firing schedule that works best with this please let me know that. I'm so excited it's like tomorrow is going to be Christmas! Thank you so much!!

I made something similar to your homemade sieve, but instead of duct tape I placed the screen onto an electric griddle and placed the bucket on top of it. The plactic gets fused into the mesh, and is not coming loose.

Never EVER rub a filter you will just shove things through you don't want. It's better to lose 0.001% of product than add an extra 5% contaminants.

Heard the wind chimes in the background and thought they were mine! Oh how I love them and great video! I’m in the midst of processing my own as well. Found some while fishing last year. Only just now getting to it during quarantine. Could’ve used that paint stirrer lol had to do all that by hand.

I hope you aren't claiming that you created this work because a lot of it, at least, is the work of Nathan Nicholls, Waldoboro, Maine.
@freemanloughridge59154 жыл бұрын
This is 100 percent my work. The only similarity between my work and yours is that some of the same pieces of junk have been used by both of us. I searched your FB page and find no pieces that are close to mine. Please show me which pieces you believe are Nathans. All the pieces on this video were made by me between the years of 1999 and 2005. They are all in collections of people here in Oklahoma as well as collections at Murray State College, Southeastern Oklahoma State University and The Goddard Center For The Arts in Ardmore OK.. Nathans pieces are nice and I wish him success.
