Please don't take it as an insult but I'm gonna post a couple of my favorite lore channels and maybe you can find something there to help you improve your presentation ( and do go back to the earliest vids to see how far other creators have come and you can go). Best of luck to you with your channel and thank you for covering Robotech/Macross. That's a whole legal mess honestly, dating back to the 1980s and still in the courts. Basically had something to do with the artist used by Robotech also permitting the art to be used by FASA for Battletech (this and several other mechs currently dubbed "Unseen.") This particular one is Battletech is the Crusader.

Looking the episode *Tears of the Prophets* the OWPs must be at least 90m in radius because they are scaled as almost as wide as the BoP is long. 20m radius is smaller than a runabout and there is no way one can fit three heavy Spiral Wave Cannons and at least two burst torpedo launchers. It is also mathematically impossible to fit 1000 plasma torpedoes in that space.
@bcwolf10010 күн бұрын
I looked over on DITL.org and they have a nice cover of the episode, you're right that the with is off on this. I'm going to throw out a new with and please feel free to give me feedback. one of the stills showed the Defiant close by and the platform looked to be close to 2/3 the width of her. this leads me to think of about 100m wide. Though there is room for error on this because I don't know how close the Defiant truly is, but this would be my guess. thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching.

11:57 - Yeah, that was a totally unknown "D-list" toymaker company named 'Forever Clever' (what a daring name, eh? 😀). Some insane Hasbro executive sold them the G.I.Joe licence for about two or three years in, I think, 2020. It happened a couple of years after Hasbro had shut down their own Kre-O brand. The quality of those sets was incredibly poor. Till that point in time, I thought that the worst "Lego-clone" had been either British 'Best-Lock' or Chinese 'BlockTech', but 'Forever Clever' was on yet another, even lower, level. 😀 + 😞 It was as if Hasbro gave them instruction to make Lego-compatible brick-based construction sets, BUT they should be like "cheap rack toys" that kids can buy for pocket money. 😀 + 😞

@subraxas I'm happy to see more brick G I Joe sets come out, Mattel did a good job from what I have seen. The sad part is Hasbro could have kept going with the Kreo line and improved the builds. The Last company that made Joe sets was a Chinese company that didn't do G I Joe any justice. Let's hope Mattel keeps making good sets not just for us adults but for kids to get into the franchise as well.

@@bcwolf100 Well, Kre-O was around for seven years if I remember it correctly and eventually Hasbro came to a conclusion that they could not compete on this particular market with Lego, Mega, Oxford, Cobi, and others. In 2010s as well, Canadian Spin Master, another huge toymaker, tried the same "experiment" like Hasbro did by their creating their own brand for brick-based construction toys, Ionix, and this one was around for even shorter period of time; like only five years or so. The competition is tough.

you're right, Daystrom has some shuttles listed as having a hull life of 20 to 50 years. I will say this though, when we get to the Romulans and other races we don't get as much history for the ships as we do for the federation or even the Klingons. As gamers for even fans we can always look beyond this in several was. First we could see this as an error or second it may get retired out or military service after 15 years and then enter civilian life. Thanks for watching.

The ship was originally pictured officially with the 4 things on the back, those were the missile launchers that the one modified freighter from the Thrawn Trilogy had. The more pixilated, 3 deck design was from a group of folks who knew some engineering, and who took the stats from all sources they could find to figure out the "correct" set of stats, and, given that, what the ship should actually be like. At the time, the only images for the Barloz were those of the modified one. The lower deck is mostly just the mechanical bits underneath the cargo area, the upper deck was just the cross section area. Less about being 3 decks than about giving a schematic that rpg folks could use when hunting down that slippery little alien critter through the duct-work! As you say, make of it what you will, you and your game-master can definitely haggle out a final design. Barloz is a good, tough ship, with plenty of room for adventures of all types. Enjoy your games is the main thing! My .02 credits on this.

I ran a traveler campaign where the players received a free trader as part of character creation. I had the ship modified. It was faster and better armored than a standard free trader, but it had been poorly maintained and suffered a bit of combat damage. Monthly maintenance costs were higher, sensors rolls suffered a penalty, and I had one of the turrets burn out after a certain number of shots were fired out of it. The players had to put most of their profits from missions into fixing the ship up. They loved the janky nature of the ship and cursed me when I would Suprise them with some expensive component breakdown. The ship really became another character in the campaign. As an alternative to giving experience to the ship, I would suggest more player agency. In a Star Trek campaign, let them pick one item from a list and make an engineering check to get it each time their engineering skill improves. In games where the players don't work for a government agency, have them dump time and money into hot-rodding their favorite ride. I think players really enjoy ship improvements when they are the ones choosing the direction and putting the work in.
