Hello, Thanks for the clear explenation of upgrading the Fuji camera. I only have one question.... Sinds I bought my camera XT20; years ago, I didn't upgrade it sinds I bought it. Does it matter if I leave the many upgrades and upgrade it to the last version in one time?

D500 and D7200 both have the AI sensing tab for metering with a manual focus AIS lens. This feature is not present in the D7500. Most reviewers don't mention that.

I am primarily a Micro 4/3 shooter but wanted a Nikon camera to use my Nikon legacy glass but still have more telephoto reach. I bought a used D7200 over a D7500 because it is a better camera for less money. The D7500 is still available new but I think it was a compromise between the D7200 and its entry level cameras, which it has dropped. The D500 is too large and expensive for an APS-C camera in my opinion. I think the bottom line is that Nikon wanted people to go full frame for a camera with professional features, since this is where the money is. This video was made 7 years ago during a time when Nikon seemed to be making one bad decision after another (Nikon 1, Key Mission action cameras, etc.). Fortunately, Nikon has turned things around since then with its Z-mount mirrorless cameras.

I am considering this or the Panasonic HC-VXF990EBK camcorder have you tried the camcorder ? How do they compare ? Also the FZ2000 has no image stabilisation in 4K is that right ?

If you like the color rendition and micro contrast of Zeiss lenses, you should definitely try Voigtlander Apo lanthars... they have the same Zeiss color flavour and micro contrast. Both are made by Cosina in Japan and both are pure Mechanical lenses... thanks for Share.

You lose 4. Inaddition to your 3 you also lose the ability to use all your old lenses.

I shop for lenses now before cameras and their brand. 90% for the time I use vintage adapted lenses on a mirrorless body. There are some real winners out there if you do your research.

I don't know who gave this lens the beer-can lens name , In Canada We would call it the king Can Lens , I just bought the one up from this lens , 70 -120 , Minolta MD Zoom , Micro 1.4 . 5 half the length of lol today at Value Village for $12 Mint , you know back in the day Leica camera company contracted Minolta to make their lenses right , the lens I bought it still manual and I prefer manual , a back-in-the-day Minolta I have a Minolta Maxima 5000 and that has one of the fastest focussing lenses - Cameras back then when used in automatic , they're famous saying only from the minds of Minolta true , it's a shame that Minolta could not carry that over to digital ? Mind-boggling , there's also awesome cameras back in the 60s that take awesome pictures Yashica 35, GSN , the Pentax MX from the 1970s all metal all metal Chrome fullly mechanical , You want to take photography serious buy and us manual lenses Digital will never compare to colour film , black and white is different story , I own a Pentax Q and taking pictures with that camera is just as good as black white film lol but you explore

Great video even 5 years later ! I've just moved back to Nikon mostly because of the D700 and the cheap AF glass you can buy now. Also bought a 2nd hand D7200 for just over $300 for my wildlife shooting and couldn't be happier !

Hard to hear because of a echo

been checking out these camera bodies lately because Nikon is the only manufacturer of an Autofocus fisheye for their DX camera line. I think i'll most likely go with the D7200 cause of the dual SD card slot for file redundancy. Really wish the D7200 had a flip screen though. Sigh.

thanks ....most of videos I came across said nothing about formatting a new card...also non of the videos were successful for me, now that i just formatted, the pics are now easily transferring to card...very stressing to be transferring 21,000 pics that are for irreplaceable art process pics. thanks again.

I considered the 7500. Bought a nice used 7100 for $340. More $ for glass.

Nikon needed to downsize the D500 to make it more affordable for the Enthusiast to buy in place of a D500! I bought the D7500 sight unseen and it's no where as good as the D7200; SORRY! Nikon has committed Suicide and are not Producing anymore DSLR'S after the D500! Nikon has Discontinued the D3500, D5600 & D500.

what about the 4k in video shooting?

I recently sold my x-t20 and bought an x-a3 to save some money because honestly, the x-t20 was a bit too bulky for me. I like to carry my camera everywhere. Maybe when I have a bit more money I'll go back to the higher-end X model. Besides, autofocus and eyepiece are not too important to me. I do mostly nature photography. Great price for 24mp

Great video... but medium format is like higher size sensor and for even full frame we are struggling to get the processing done with our technology. I mean processor to handle that for autofocus etc. so I thought medium format to get that processing technology it will take big time. so Fuji missing what happen current and need to wait for era as per there future plans. please advise if I am wrong?. having a system to wait more and cant use any part of the lens or body investment to the medium format future. its insane. hope Fujifilm will make that change not like 50 years.

Having used both systems The D500 and the EM1 MKII - I say in the AF area the D500 wins. For things like soccer, birds in flight and motorsports - the keeper rate is much better with the D500. I think there are two factors here. The AF photosensors can be a bit larger in the D500 because it does not have to fit inbetween the pixels on the sensor like on the Olympus. Also the olympus has bigger pixel density, which means focus is even more critical. 10 fps is enough for almost everything - i often turn it down. The AF in low light is not even compareble between the two systems. Nikon focus reliable down to -4EV (Thats dark) and fast down to -2.5-3EV in my experience. Doing concert photography allready around sunset in outdoor venues the Olympus did struggle. The D500 keeps going. And the menu system is way easier on Nikon.
