I've had the cassette for many years and just decided to upgrade to "all optical media". I have to say that while it was very nice to hear the songs without hissing (which only got worse), I was a little disappointed with the dynamic range of the CD. It almost felt like a “cookie cutter” release. Each song had the same dynamics...much like when you put your home theater or TV into "night viewing" mode, the track is compressed to maintain the sound level. In fact, I recently purchased several Luther EPIC records from the 1980s (I previously owned every major album from the early 90s and beyond on CD). ALL albums sound exactly the same... The songs are there, and I'm delighted to have them on optical disc; but EPIC's "cookie cutter" presentation made me want a SACD reissue where we could hear the full sonic range and maybe even a bit of studio ambience from the title track. Oh, don't forget: the records all came with nostalgic "liner notes." Nothing (even the cassette liners were empty...), but all the words, studio staff, artists, recording venue staff, etc. are here! Hard to get these days in the age of digital downloads.

I love this album of Luther Vandross at his best. This albim really sounds better, especially on a good HiFi system. No real stand out track as all the tracks are good.

definitely I did well to order all the CDs of this dear Luther: we are never disappointed (or almost!) because the best ofs are very reductive for this singer of whom all the divas (Dionne Warwick, Beyoncé, Mariah Careh.......) competed for the favor of recording a duet with him!!

Let's be honest, this Kendrick Lamar is incredible, this album reflects all his artistic talent and even more, a classic this gnx

For me this album is the best of Kendrick Lamar is a reference in the world of rap us it is magnificent the instrumentals and the rap of Kendrick make it in my eyes a Westcoast classic

My favorite song is not like us but it's not on the GNX album because I think it's because it's a diss track

From the introduction, Kendrick no longer even bothers to point out that he is the best of his generation. He takes the liberty of attacking legends like Snoop and Lil Wayne. The cover is frankly inspired by Tha Carter 2, which was itself a reference to Jay-Z. We could also push it a little by seeing an allusion to Nipsey Hustle.

But it's a treat from start to finish despite this intention which could seem lazy at first glance. Indeed it is a tribute to the pillars of the genre and also very inspired in the texts and the way of putting his voice.

I think it's the US Rap album that grabbed me the most from the first listen of the year, and what's more, it gets better with each re-listening with the texts in front of me

I remember i woke up to my social media spamming me with posts saying Kendrick dropped an album i didn't believe it but wow 🔥

It is in this comfort of slightly old school productions that we rediscover with great pleasure an artist full of vitality at the microphone. The album does not seek to take the listener out of their comfort zone like To Pimp a Butterfly could do.

As for the instrumentals, I think this is the least risky album of Kendrick Lamar's career since his first opus, even if that doesn't stop Jack Antonoff from doing a very good job.
