Funny how I found this video, I pass this intersection almost on the daily

Love simi getting a spotlight, could you make a video on where our tax money is going and why doesn’t simi or Ventura county in total bury the electrical poles and phone service because we get it taken away every year and the amount of food waste. Vons on tapo canyon shut down and had to have wasted 10s of not 100s of thousands of dollars on perishable produce

You should have seen the chaos the traffic light on Los Angeles Ave. and Spring Rd. was causing in Moorpark... it was far worse not sure if completely fixed yet

I work on Traffic signals in Ventura County. Just like your job, employees you can’t make poop roll uphill. The train tracks at the intersection do complicate the electrical connections. The equipment that runs the intersection is different from the equipment that raises and lowers the arms across the tracks . The city takes responsibility for the intersection equipment up to the point where the train equipment takes over that one function. What happens on red flash operation, considered safe by the state , no pedestrian street crossing equipment will work at all, it goes dark. That is dangerous. The best thing to do if you want it repaired is complain by email. The question they will ask is WHERE is damaged equipment? WHERE tells experienced management WHO is supposed to make repairs. Is it the City, State or Federal?

As far as licenses being easier to get i can attest for that. Not very common to have schools doing drivers ed either so you either get a parent who doesn’t wanna do it or a instructor who just wants you to pass ASAP. if a driving skill isn’t on the test they won’t teach you it.. and that includes parallel parking

I live in Simi off Royal Ave. Ive realized that agencies communication is dog water. I was waiting for the 20 westbound to go to college back around September and there was road construction but the city didn't let transit know so. I had to wait 15 minutes for a disability van to pick me up and drop me off at school. The transit came in clutch but they were PISSED at the city and my driver and I were friends so she ranted a bit about how its impossible to do their job when they are left in the dark and are supposed to improvise. Its ridiculous. Definitely a breakdown in communication somewhere.

Is there a local club for this kinda stuff?

Good vid. Just wanna add, this intersection doesn't let pedestrians on bikes go. It detects cars, so I get stuck a lot late at night unless I run it. But y'know, the whole city design is out to kill bikers so fits the bill lol.

As someone from Central LA, the idea of a guy spending all this time on a singular nonfunctioning traffic light is hilariously Simi. And yet I got legitimately interested and invested. Nice video, well done.

It’s because the people of this town do not know how four way stops work. Or they’re too busy thinking they are more important than others.

Every time I see a sign for Erringer I think it's a road to some kind of mistake. Any highway/street/rail here is just amazingly hard to get info about though. I just wanted to get info about a road that has been closed since the Woolsly fire, and I don't even expect to have any input to the process, I just want to know if it will EVER reopen- and it's next to impossible.

With the mountain fire and the power being out to some intersection entirely it was super bad. At the Wendy intersection I saw a lot of people who seemed to think that because the lights were out they just didn’t have to stop at the intersection.
