I don't even measure the latency because I can't notice it on most games. And when I notice it it's not because of the network or throughput but due to settings like frame prediction or Linux asynchronous reprojection (both on ALVR) not working properly with some games, so turning them off helps (in the case of frame prediction I set to 2). Do you use wifi6 with a dedicated router for the link? it helps a lot. Routers that are shared with other tasks won't perform very well. One thing you can try is making your PC be an access point with NAT (masquerading) on and connect your Quest to it. It will be a point-to-point connection but they will be in the same network and the lag will be minimal, and discovery services that ALVR use will also work.

@LinuxGamesBR ofk im use all best for wireless streaming. But got twice higher latency in ALVR compare to VD, and twice worst image quality with the same codec and bitrate.

I wish you good luck. The Index is a good VR, but I gave up on it because the screen is kind of washed out compared to the Meta Quest 3. Also I had to buy an additional base station (I have three) to accurately get hand movements behind the shoulder. On the bright side, there are games that are not running via ALVR right now that run on the Index, like Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall, Barbaria and Lust for Darkness VR.

Yes but it's very difficult to achieve because the manual hit is a gesture you perform, and it's much harder in VR to get the timing right between the gesture and the jump/jetpack button. So you won't be doing it over and over again... Unless you have really great skills. I get it right maybe once each 10 times, doing it in sequence is unthinkable.

@@LinuxGamesBR Yea. That's the main reason I'm not playing in VR. I want that melee rocket boost.

@@p0lar0id the way I personally handle that is using the rocket boots for the rocket boost. :) Just double-tapping the jump button makes it really easy in VR.
