I don't usually see this type of dismantling in the USA. Most of the yards I've been too don't pull the engine or pull wiring out. They just crush the whole car, engine and all components. (Battery and all fluids are all removed first.) It's rare that a good running car just gets thrown away in the US. Most of us in the States run our cars till they are worn out. I've seen some car scrapping videos from other countries, and they crush the car with all fluids in it and the fluids spill all over the ground. That isn't allowed in Texas, the state will shut you down if your caught spilling fluids on the ground. Scrap yards in the US will always be busy with over 50 million vehicles sold per year in the US.

If it was a pin on thumb it would follow the same radius as the bucket and the teeth of the bucket would always meet the teeth of the thumb at any point I think right??

No diesel alternative, Depending on how fast you run the engine, 4 to 6 hours

i generally run at half revs. Tank lasts long time, diesel is not an option
