You know it’s actually crazy to know a few tricks on the boss.. on the first phase all you have to do is break all but one of those Crystals then you can easily gun it down or my favorite is to spam the dash in hopes of getting behind the Crystal. The second phase is the same until you reach the head, the rockets deal more damage to the Crystal and you don’t need to move for it’s wind-up attack, where the head opens up to do one of two attacks. The third phase… I got nothin other than using the lock on rocket Strat. Lock on, follow and fire, dodge, wait for despawn and reappear, count to two during that time then use your pinball attack (cancel mid use, if possible) repeat. Boss should die before then.

Y'know, as a fellow human being... I 'do' understand where Lao is coming from, ESPECIALLY right now. I haven't ever lived through, nor ever dare to want to live through, the kind of loss that would drive him to turn his back on the wretched species that damned his family and billions more to die just so that just a few GREEDY, USELLESS, UNDESERVING SCUM could live. Honestly, just the very thought would make me want to kill everyone with my bare hands if I were in his shoes.... I can't even pretend that the thought wouldn't cross my mind.... But, at the same time, I get where Elma is coming from too.. Someone HAD to make that choice if ANYONE was going to live. ...And, isn't that really the tragedy of this all? There was no black and white here. Just truckloads of grey that edge on pitch black.... I can certainly understand why some ppl may find the overall narrative in X lacking compared to the main trilogy, but even so... for me... this game hit more personally than all the others simply bc it wasn't anyone else's story. I wasn't Shulk, I wasn't REx, gigachad that he is, and I wasn't noah... Nah, it was just me and me alone right hther watching it play out and acting. And, flaws or not, that fact alone hit home, and Lao's feelings and reasons hit home, and Lin's impassioned defense hit home, and Elma's cold pragmatism hit home in a way that none of the other game's did bc thery were beyond flawed. X isn't the sotry about anyone person or centered around any one person. Xenoblade X is literally the story of humanity that has lost its home and, in a sense, its very identity as humans. I mean, the phrase, 'ghost in the machine' is beyond fitting here. It's downright poetic in how succinct and apt a description that is... What's worse is that, unlike the other games and stories... humanity is constantly reminded of how utterly unimportant it is even in spite of the very real human drama playing out. Y'know, the real irony after ten years might have been that while not story everyone might have wanted, X might have been the story we needed more than any of the others, and I feel that's even more true now in 2025 than it was in 2015.

When you break the gems, you don't have to destroy all of them to hit him, they act as a decoy and suck up your blasts really easily, but if you break most of them, you can hit it if he only has 3 or 4 of them left, just aim for that sweet spo. Great video!

It's funny that he's so strong physically but he's too dumb to realize that he can directly kill the count without killing everyone else including his best friend and his sister in the process.

I think Chester wanted to gloat how superior he is to the Count by reducing his castle into a den of monsters which alludes to how the Count ordered the massacre of his family in Genos' Island. Chester took his sweet time until Garland actually reveals himself as the perpetrator.

This boss is just a dissapointment, thing is literally useless, die in 5 hits, just go time freeze, magic shield and berserk, 10 hits dead, no effort, the former jack the blade fight was alot better

There isnt a way to use that sadly though they don't show viper boost in the opening cinematic either so kinda weird.

@@ChipoltleXD I'm guessing they were originally going to include the laser, but they figured it would lag the game too much and you would be very vulnerable, so they replaced it with the viper boost last minute.

I get the Catastrophe part, but Nightmare? Just finished a Normal playthrough, with level 54 he does around 70 damage each hit. Either it isn't Nightmare, or your level is far higher than 52.

@@ChipoltleXD The Ark isn't that difficult if you can see through the Lasers though. Story mode Ernst is easy compared to Time Attack Nightmare Ernst.
