I recently wanted to do the same just because of how good Unreal looks out of the box, but man - do I hate the whole actor/blueprint flow. Nodes in Godot are so seamless, so fast to work with. In Unreal everything feels backwards, I have issues creating the most basic of abstractions, blueprints while fun to do simple stuff it is basically unreadable for more complex stuff, and C++ integration is just abyssmal - UE 5.5 as for now has no working intelissense and every single minor change has to be recompiled, it is so annoying.

Awesome job!! Love the idea of creating different sections that are put together to create the level 🔥
@auesip22 сағат бұрын
Thanks, it was something to add a unique run for each player, as it ensures it's always different too! Helps to keep a single level from getting too stale

get udemy blueprint course, is a long and in deep into the structure of data and logic inside Unreal, I understand a lot more now.

You just have to be careful not to let it get you down when you fail and let the challenge of learning be the reward.

hi , a question to you , do you consider the platformer you made entertaining ? serious question
@auesip16 күн бұрын
Which platformer?

Unreal's workflow is actually not that different from Godot, at least compared to a lot of other game engines. In both you're mostly building custom tooling and systems in C++ then gluing them together with a high level scripting interface (blueprints/gdscript respectively).

great chooice the godot team is realy toxic and unreal is more powerfull👍

unreal to me feels a lot more beginner friendly where as i get over whelmed by a blank script and making a spelling mistake

Unreal does have aloooot of benefits for welcoming beginners wether it be assets, blueprints ect :D

My brain simply can't process programming with blueprints.
@auesip18 күн бұрын
It's a different method for sure, I'm not perfect and I tend to make a mess to clean after but it's the same process with my code. Whatever fits best for you is what you should go for!

These dominant full-fledged engines are too rich for me to handle. I tried Roblox Engine and Unity and soon GameMaker, before maybe come back to Unity under a professor's supervision.

That's understandable, it depends on what works best for you

I've always said if i used 3D id use unreal and godot for 2D. I mostly use 2d so mostly godot, i am interested if unreal script is still gonna happen. I never liked blueprints but I'm old now.

That's fair, it's how I started, currently I have switched to 3D to learn what's involved though

We're still assuming we want to make games for money. You should make games you want to see....money won't be a thing much longer

Completely agree with you. becoming a game developer is hard and can take a long time if you dont have any experience. Creating the project that initially inspired you from the start will take a long time and you will likely "fail" but along the way you will have picked up so many skills that will allow you to potentially succeed on your next "dream game". I dont think I would have put up with all the late nights/early mornings learning this craft if I wasn't working towards something that I was passionate about. keep up the great work!
@auesip26 күн бұрын
It's the fact of not putting up with the late nights that's the big difference, the dream is what truly does just push you that extra mile

Hey man, nice video. I wanted to ask, is the thumbnail a game art illustration or is it made with AI? I’m looking to generate similar looking images for a web project. It would be very helpful to know. Thanks

Ive set my mind on starting to develop by myself in 2025. I want to be efficient in my learning progress and still work on my dream game simultaneously. So what I've done is i analyzed what concepts, mechanics and techniques are required in my dream game, and separated them into chunks of coherent mini projects. This way i can fully delve into 5 mini projects, learn everything whats needed to actually implement the mechanics correctly and by the end i can start to bring all my knowledge together and build the main game from scratch with all the best practises i learned.
@auesip28 күн бұрын
That's honestly a brilliant way to do it, after all those mini projects the dream game should be well able to be done, keep it up!
@WallabyWinters28 күн бұрын
Also that way one should always have the feeling to still contribute to their main project. Thanks! There's a looong road ahead :D

Honestly I think this is good advice when your dream game isn't too crazy. Me personally, well, I call it a dream for a reason. One day, maybe one day. I am thankful that my current dream game isn't what I had when I started, since I dream too big. Luckily I can probably make some smaller games to improve my skills until I either get skilled enough to make it by myself, or can gather a team somehow.

100% I get you, hopefully you can get to the point of bringing your dream to life someday!

Confirmado... funciona perfecto en Godot 4.3 y para exportar a APK sin problemas de visualización de la tabla solamente tuve que habilitar 3 permisos (Internet, access_networt_state y access_wifi_state) Gracias por el tutorial.
