this is pure bs. AA and all other anon groups are frauds and have absolutely no medical or treatment value. Anon is pseudo religion and not evidence based at all. unfortunately, this anon scam has taken over American culture and so you have lame tv shows with doctors ordering others to attend AA meetings.

Theres a hospital here where i live. That i would never allow anyone to take me there. They took too long with my mothers treatment, and when they got her a bed, it was a cesspool. She died there. Had she got her treatment on a better hospital she could been alive today. If im sick i will never go there.

Actually had this happen to a friend of mine in college. One day his tonsils ballooned and he ended up ion the ER of the hospital near our university. The "doctor" ignored the face that he had a history of chronic tonsillitis and decided that my friend had oral gonorrhea simply because my friend disclosed he's gay. Apparently he had the Jesus Christ strain of it if that was the case because he hadn't had sex in two months and the incubation period is 1-2 weeks.

hows the friend doing now? everything end up alright for his tonsil issue? even with the doctor being a little dumb.

@ChanjuFritchКүн бұрын
No, a lip on the wire would not help. The whole purpose of the wire is allow exchange of catheters over its length. Yes, there is an indicator system for when you're close to the end. Most brands have a triple stripe when enough length has been inserted. No, it is not "slick when wet". The wire has a texture similar to a guitar string, ie, it has a steel braiding that provides some friction and tactile feel. Yes, this is the senior doctor's fault. NEVER let a junior perform something for the first time unsupervised. Your obligation to the patient and to your trainee is to watch them do the critical portions until theyve proven to you they can do it without error.

There are hydrophilic guidewires that are extremely slippery when wet. They don’t have the same texture as a guitar string.
@ChanjuFritchКүн бұрын
Hydrophilic guide wires are not used in bedside procedures like the one depicted above. They are used in endovascular navigation in a cath lab, and usually with a specialized grip device called a torque. They certainly wouldn't be used by an intern in placement of a central line.

First off, I am in full agreement that not smoking anything is the healthier choice. There is no arguing that. How ever, to compare smoking a cigarette to vaping and saying they are both equally harmful is just you saying you know nothing about what you're talking about with out actually saying you know nothing about what you're talking about. Anti-vaping ads/campaigns are counting on the fact that you don't know how much chemicals are in anything. They are banking on the idea that you'll hear a trigger word and think "Omg, that's so bad" because you know that chemical can be harmful. They are expecting you to not know how much of said chemical is needed before it is considered a harmful amount. Take for example formaldehyde, a popular buzzword for anti-vape propaganda. Majority of you have no earthly idea how much of the stuff is needed before it's a dangerous amount. Most of you don't even realize that formaldehyde is a naturally occurring chemical that is found in many of our foods. Many of you probably don't even realize your body produces roughly 1.5 ounces of formaldehyde a day. 1 cigarette contains about 3.4-8.8 micrograms of formaldehyde, while a day of vaping will expose you to about 0.08 micrograms. A day of vaping exposes you to a little over 280 million times less formaldehyde than what your body produces naturally. There are many other chemicals in vapes though. Like propylene glycol. Anti-vape propaganda would like to tell you how the stuff is used in industrial uses. What they won't tell you is that there are 2 categories propylene glycol can fall in. Industrial grade, and food grade. Food grade means that it is safe to eat. Industrial grade propylene glycol isn't what is used in vapes. Vape juice uses food grade propylene glycol, the same propylene glycol that is used in dairy products, baked goods, fast food, condiments and other foods you eat with out thinking about what chemicals are in it. I'm not making this post in an attempt to defend vaping. As I said at the start, not smoking anything is the healthier option. I'm just trying to inform people, inform them that anti-vaping ads are filled with misinformation that is purely meant pray on your lack of knowledge and to scare you. Many people enjoy smoking something, and for those people if their 2 options are cigarettes or vaping, I would much rather them choose vaping. Would be nice if they quit, but just because you were able to, or know someone who was able to, that doesn't mean everyone has the willpower/desire to quit.
