It's insane how much Ali was able to take. This was probably his biggest strength.

I've a little bit of memories from this fight I was five year's old. So I seen the fight a few year's later I think he was still Clay...it was when he was returned that I started watching him was drawn to his fights first time I watched him fight Joe Frazier even though he lost the first fight I believed him what he said he did. From that time on he was who he was the greatest fighters ever he made many other's who they were he carried the boxing world and drew crowds to come see the fights and boxer's with the same desire to be at the top challenged him when he lost he came back even stronger with a awesome fighter plan.

I never realized that Ali rarely threw a body shot, he occasionally threw a straight jab towards the chest or a little lower, but not an all out body attack like most boxers to help lower their guard

Ali and his team cheated half of the wins and corrupt refs in their pockets. In Mannila it never worked though and he suffered for it. Cooper beat him here but the ball always in his court

Listening to the audio recording of the fight with a stopwatch in hand, the truth emerges. The gap between rounds one and two was exactly one minute. The gap between rounds two and three was, again, exactly one minute. Same again for rounds three and four. But the gap between rounds four and five - the moment of the torn glove incident - was, precisely, one minute and six seconds. In other words, only six seconds more than all the other intervals. But as it was, a myth was born that Dundee had bought Ali minutes of extra time to recover. "It's staggering how many people made mistakes writing about this. It's just rubbish," says Bunce. "Sir Henry Cooper insisted it was minutes, most people say it was. But the gloves, they were never taken off. Dundee worked the tear, but by modern standards it was not a delay." Boxing promoter Frank Warren does not believe Dundee tampered with the gloves at all "He never said it didn't happen, and he never said it did happen. Angelo Dundee was a very astute guy. It would have helped his reputation as a great cornerman. He was a super, super cornerman. Everyone thought he was a genius [believing he had deliberately torn the glove]. But it just didn't happen." He thinks Ali won the fight when he wanted to win it. But why did this story become legendary? Perhaps it was simply a story that suited both sides. Warren believes it enhanced the reputation of both Dundee and Cooper. The British public wanted to think the fight could have been a British victory, and the story made them love Cooper even more. - BBC www.bbc.com/news/16985467.amp

Ali was on record as saying he never saw that left hook, but he sure felt it. Henry Cooper's only real weakness was that he cut easily, being stopped in bouts he was doing well in. Ali & Cooper became great friends, each hosting the other on their visits to the respective countries. 2 giants of the heavyweight division.
