My Italian grandmother would brag that she bought her furniture in the 40s, and it was in great shape because of the plastic. Mind you this was the late 80's. 😂 miss my little grandmom. Lets not forget the plastic fruit and crystal dangle things hanging of the yellow velvet lamp shades. Lol

The problem with wrapping your furniture in plastic is that you never end up using it with the plastic off like it was intended. You just keep it wrapped until the couch/cushions get out of shape or you redecorate and throw it out It's like never taking the plastic off your phone...right up until you bin the phone when it breaks or you upgrade

Yes, it's like saving all manner of things FOR LATER. My grandmother saved towels etc. forever then passed them on to my father who recently passed away. We had to throw the (unused) towels out as they were now nearly 100 years old and yellow. What a shame one got the use out of them.

Oh they never! redecorate back in the day, a sofa set was expensive for the time, and most likely bought on a loan, so you better keep it like new. Also it was also high quality furniture and cushions, not like most of the “use and trow away” furniture of today. Some of the times i have moved, my IKEA furniture just broke apart when i tried to move it, they used real high quality wood not plywood

What is awful about taking your shoes off entering a house? We always do
@ab-bc2gr
@ab-bc2gr 2 жыл бұрын
Agree 100%. Everyone I know who doesn't take their shoes off has a dirty home. Imagine, dogs pee outside (& poo), people spit everywhere etc. All of this (and more) is on your shoes and just astounds me how people cannot even think of this when they wear shoes inside. Then you walk around your (now dirty) floors in bare feet and transfer the filth to your bed and everywhere else in your home. Guess it's a breeding thing.

I was wondering why my grandma had plastic on her dinning chairs and a big chair. She also had a hard plastic on the dinning room table. The worst was my aunt had plastic on the mattress of her guest room. That made it hot to sleep on and then the plastic would make a sound every time you turned or moved. Was awful.
