Honesty sounds more like a lawnmower starting and stalling from a distance. I've been listening to it for 44 years of hunting. Makes me hungry, eat one, and chicken will taste dirty compared to them .

Who cares why waste your time. You should be looking for ancient ruins from 36,000 years to maybe 400,000 250,000 years ago somewhere around then and why bother with the birds they test nuclear missiles all the time so that just ruins everything for the environment so we can do nuclear wars stopped and no more testing for nuclear missiles by any country

Once in the Rockies I heard this, and it must have been awful close cos the sound was so deep it felt like it was my heart pounding inside my chest - I thought I was having heart palpitations! XD The little bastard did it on repeat for about 10 minutes while I panicked, before I finally figured out the pounding feeling was not in fact my ticker about to give out!

Imagine you're lost in the North American wilderness on the brink of starving to death and you hear a helicopter. You stand up in joy and confidence running to find the rescue helicopter that's come to get you after all these weeks, but then you see something moving in the brush, and you turn to look at it, scared for what it might be... And then all you see is a goofy bird beating it's wings on it's chest. I think I'd just give up at that point 😂

Kind of, they have great tits, marsh tits, and coal tits, which all look pretty similar to chickadees.

👍 I observe numerous Great Egrets on the birding routes at a lake in NE Oklahoma. They begin flocking up about now for the migration.
