I tried this recipe, and the biscuits came out flat after baking. What went wrong?

I’m sure they are yummy but maybe next time let someone who has held a camera before do the filming.

Mine did not give that beautiful lift in the end. In fact they did not rise any above the size that they were when I put it in. Whatever did I do wrong? 😥😔

I succeed the first time I made these, but the past two times my dough has come out so crumbly and dry when I dump it on the counter to form into a rectangle to chill. Any tips?? I usually follow the video as I’m doing it. I mix by hand if it makes a difference

I'm curious how fast you actually work in the kitchen to make these biscuits since it seems like there's no rush in this video! Coming from a person who bakes commercially and is always stressed about deadlines 😭

Has anyone here actually tried the recipe? The amount of salt is perplexing. The scones turned out to be too salty for me to eat. 🤯 Are they supposed to be like that? Can anyone pls confirm? The salt in other scone recipes is much less than this 😳

What brand of kosher salt do you use? I’ve accidentally used Morton in a recipe that used diamond crystal and wound up with some very salty muffins before haha.

Huh I’ve never tried a pie dough with sour cream and baking powder... interested to give it a go! (Also IMO these are much more hand pies than pop tarts lol... no pop tart has ever looked like that) would love to see weight measurements in the future!!

What am I doing wrong? I made these once and they were the perfect consistency like in the cafe. I’ve made them two more times and they flatten out. They’re still delicious, just not the cakey/scone shape, more like a traditional cookie. Help!! 😭
@robertmcpherson77652 жыл бұрын
If they flatten out when baking it is because when you made the dough the butter melted too much or got too warm. This happened to me. I have to make the dough as fast as I can. Before I pull the butter out of the fridge I measure out and mix the sugars in a bowl, dry ingredients in another bowl, and wet ingredients in another. Pull the butter out, cut it up, and get rolling. Have everything pre measured and mixed makes the process much faster and less likely the butter will melt during the dough making process. Also if at any stage you beat the butter too much that can speed up the melting process
