There's loneliness in the game, and outside of it. Loneliness in the game, when you interact with dead worlds, or when you get into a part where you're alone after the game has proven you never were. Loneliness outside of the game, when you realize you're interacting with a world that doesn't exist, or that the experience you're having, that's sometime life changing, isn't real. In the end, you're lonely but that's, despite everything, a beautiful feeling.

i think that risk of rain games have that feeling too, well when you are not being swarmed by enemies, if you just look around, you are alone, nobody can help you, you just gotta survive, its music really captures that feeling

I haven't played my original game of pokemon white in years, but i know its still my 4th most played game overall, at over 350hrs- which it very significant considering the open world/pvp nature of the other 3 games- Minecraft, Paladins and Overwatch EDIT: Also N's farewell is the only story related reason i have ever cried for a game, and DAMN you hit me in the feels playing that part hit me in the feels and made me tear up all over. Also i have so many memories like stumbling on my first shiny before i knew what shinies even were

Shadow of the Colossus is and always has been one of those games that sticks with me as a deeply personal experience and I have to make the pedantic correction that the world of the forbidden lands is far from dead and there is definitely life to be found. There are the titular lizards of course, and fruit. But also hawks and fish which you can grab onto and ride through the air or water. Seeing those hawks swoop down and flying alongside you as you explore the countryside is a heartwarming and comforting experience, knowing that despite how desolate it feels there is still life here. And of course, there's the doves that come to the shrine for each slain colossi, echoing the appearance of another shadow showing the progress as you work towards freeing Dormin and reviving Mono. It is unfair to call the land dead and the colossi the only inhabitants, but it is understandable that you may not notice them unless you internalize the message in your playtime that what you're doing is wrong and take the time between fights to stop and absorb the world and beauty surrounding you.

For me, the boss the got me the most in the moment is the indie game library of ruina's first major boss, tommerry. At first the game seems like this fun, if a tad bit dark, deck builder, its story and gameplay up until this point had us fight against essentialy criminals and mercs. Every time you follow them for a bit, get to know the characters then have a fight, usualy its quite hype, if a lil sad at points, but then you get to this one level (spoilers ahead from this point). The setup follows a couple, two compleatly regular people, going through a dark as hell situation, which ends in them being fused together in an unholy mass of flesh. You relise you are going to have to fight them. Now up until this point, the game was fairly easy and had one theme for each of the teams you could bring along, and the first wave follows suit. And then you go into the second, the music changes to this (on the surface) realy cheary song, and the battle arena changes to this bloody train card (it makes sence in the plot). Then the fight proceeds to crush you, making you relise the true difficulty of the game. Its the combination of increadibly fucked up story and music, and crushing difficulty that made me relise why that was such an effective damn monster

They aren't scary in the traditional, "make you fear them straight away" style of monsters but for me it's the enemies you have to face in Nier Replicant, especially Louise. She's the only enemy shade that is unabashedly, unironically, stronger than you and functionally immortal. You do not win against her. She surrenders. But you don't understand that the first time you play because the first playthrough you can't understand shades' language. It's only on replays that you start to see subtitles explaining what the shades are saying and contextualizes just how monstrous your own actions are. But that Louise fight...that will haunt me forever. I wish I never got to hear what she was saying.

As a huge space nerd, loneliness is something I actually actively seek often. Not all the time, but often. I strongly recommend evreyone to play Outer Wilds (not Worlds - good game but nowhere near to Wilds). It is one of the very few games I seriously consider a life changing experience. And the loneliness in this game is so beautiful.

Excellent vid. One of the things about Bloodborne I find so interesting is that it is very firmly both action, and horror. As a Hunter, the player character is the most aggressive and mechanically powerful in the Dark Souls framework (I consider Sekiro to be almost fully unique in that regard). The feel and utility of the dash is unparalleled, you can heal by literally bathing in the blood of your enemies. You can move circles around almost anything. In theory you don't fit into a Lovecraftian world of cosmic unknowable horrors at all. But what are the things you fight? Probably something wet, likely gross and definitely coming to murder you. It's that. . .wetness, that horrible texture that separates BB from the freakiest enemies in the other games. The spider things in Dark Souls 3 are awful, Astel and Metyr from Elden Ring are Eldritch abominations if I ever saw one. But none of them have the blood-matted fur of Yharnam's werewolves, or the endless tentacles of the greater Amygdalas. It's this masterful blending of what are really archetypal parts of gothic or cosmic horror and Fromsoft's artists and their unparalleled talent in creature, sound and environment design that makes Bloodborne feel like the impossible combo of terror and exhilaration it ends up being.

I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but i really wanted to share this story. Here it goes- May 8th,2021 I was playing minecraft ,single player on a ps4.It wasnt mine, but my uncle's.I had one as well, but at the time it was jailbroken, and i really wanted to play the latest version of minecraft, which i could not on my own ps4.I still remember the scene.I was looting a village, and i had just kjilled a iron golem by building three blocks up.I was in fisherman's house ,if my memory serves me right. Now,up until then,i had heard stories about herobrine till then.I always thought that it couldnt be real. You know the feeling you get when you see a person claiming they saw something, that shouldnt exist, cant exist?Maybe my story is giving off a similar vibe, but all i can say to justify it is it is true. On the ps4,when you press the r3 button,or hold the joystick down,it switches to first person.I had recently acquired a fishing rod,and i really wanted to see that. That when i saw it.Steve, his eyes were white. Not just white in like there was a white dot or something, there was a white rectangle there,it was not steve, but it was herobrine. Now it could have been a glitch,or something similar, cause it did not happen again. But to me the fact that it never happened again was even more scary. Minecraft never felt the same again.I moved to fortnite after that, and more recently marvel rivals. But to this day, whenver i open the game,i get an eerie feeling, like something is watching me. I am now going to continue watching the video, which i had paused at 34:40 to write this comment.
