I have two lights on "airbag fault" and "passenger airbad deactivated". Is there any point of doing your process in order to fix my problem?

Or, just take the dash board apart (Really easy) and stick a bit of black insulator tape over the airbag light. It gets it through the MOT ! LOL

the old man tested things as you did and found no problems with connections between points, yet the airbag light remains lit :< i would have thought replacing basically everything with the appropriate resistor would switch off the airbag light, but it just stays lit. we're gonna grab a scan tool of some sort to hopefully shed some light on it, but i really don't understand what could be wrong. any ideas? i feel like i might have to go through the same process myself to make sure he copied you correctly

But we can live the resister in this place if we don't want to fix the problem yes?
@outseeker Жыл бұрын
for yourself if you don't want an airbag that might be ok, but if you ever sold the car like that you will probably be in massive legal trouble, potentially responsible for killing someone if they crash the car and the airbag doesn't deploy :|

Goodmorning. I bought two Sparco sports seats for the Peugeot 206 cc but they do not have side airbags. Under the car carpet there is a plug with three cables that must be connected to the original seat. Where can I find a side airbag emulator to connect to the switch under the carpet so that I can turn off the warning light on the dashboard? Could you please tell me what each color of the side airbag cable refers to? For example what is the 12+ cable. which is GND and which is the signal cable. Thanks. Best regards.

Me resulta muy interesante el vídeo porque tengo falla de que se prende la luz airbag y quiero ponerle una Resistencia. Lo único malo es que trato de entender pero como no entiendo el inglés se me hace casi imposible 😭
@francp222 жыл бұрын
Segun lo que entendí si queres anular el airbag tenes que poner 1 resistencia de 3.3ohm en cada conector de abajo del volante, los que muestra que están atrás

Hi John, I followed your test but have a problem. When inserting the resistors across the lower blue and brown connectors and then turned the ignition on, the light on the dashboard did not go out? So what could be the problem. The first part of the other connectors turned out the correct resistance.
@outseeker Жыл бұрын
we have the same problem where the light just doesn't wanna go off, and the resistance apparently measured ok at the various points- did you ever solve this issue brian?

your the man, i want to remove passenger seat in my nissan leaf and it has an airbag fitted in the seat. will it have two yellow plugs like yours, is it 2.2 or 3.3 ohm resister needed? what would i do about the sensor that tells the car someone is sitting on the seat?

Thank you a lot mate! Tried this and turns out one of the cables had higher resistance ( at 2Ohms ) and was causing the airbag error. I simply starting shaking the small airbag cable assembly right behind the wheel and the resistance went back to normal, clearing the airbag error.

Don’t think you need high wattage resistors as the power running through them is tiny. Just cheap ebay ones will be fine

@wjohnupton6 жыл бұрын
edgar goncalves , depends on your car. You’ll need to replace any airbags that deployed in the crash.

I have a Peugeot 206 and have same problem with the airbag light always on but i was told its the passenger side air bag. Do u know how i would I fix that ?
@wjohnupton6 жыл бұрын
It will be the same system, so probably the same resistors needed but the wires will route over to the passenger side. Have a look around the back of the glove compartment and see if you can find any wires with similar plugs. The contoller pc is behind the ash try if i remember so you can trace the wires out from the controller from there.

Thanks for this video, I have had a Peugeot 206 for about 3 years now and it has failed the NCT here in Ireland because of this light, I think that a previous boy racer that owned the car may have replaced the original seats with bucket seats and I think put standard seats back in the car (without airbags) before selling it on and blocking the airbag light in the cluster display. This was pointed out to me by the tester. Have tried to fix it in the past but will use this method and test all.

Don't know, best to google the car type. I'd expect all airbags to be similar in electrical construction, so pretty close to 3 ohms.

Check you pushed both of the airbag connectors fully in before you pushed the yellow retainer home. The connectors should be firmly held in place if they are in properly. If not, the light will come on as the connection is not made

Very sad to report that Toon, has just died, aged 91. Shoreham airport was somehow always full of brilliant, very skilled “characters” that made aviation an even more unforgettable experience. Toon was very much one of them, along with John and Jenny Pothecary. See: www.theargus.co.uk/news/17476200.tributes-paid-to-former-shoreham-airport-flying-instructor/
