This is an interesting and creative way to sell such a novel guitar. However, what gets the ball rolling? What's the buying process here? Is this a bidding war, or is there a figure $$$ involved. ???

I actually have a link to the listing (with an asking price) in the description! That said, I did just sell this D-18 yesterday...

The asking price is in the listing (the link to the listing is in the description), but the guitar actually just sold.

That's a real good one! If I was in the market for a dread sized guitar, I'd buy it. Someone will get a great guitar, especially for vocal accompaniment.

That's the best Rigel I have ever heard and it is good looking too!

Fantastic sounding Collings!!! Well played! Now Forrest, we just need to figure out how to get you more subscribers. You definitely deserve them!!!!!

Pretty cool to hear one of these on your channel, considering most the other stuff you have up is old! One can definitely hear those overtones common to newer guitars.

Very impressive pick control! And yes, the guitar sounds amazing!

*Bro if you won't mind, may I know what are the mic/s did you use to record & the preamp aswell?*
@forrestsguitars9 күн бұрын
Sure! I have a pair of Schoeps mics as well as a Stager ribbon mic...I'm running them all through a Universal Audio preamp/interface!

Sounds really good. The head stock crack is classic and looks done well enough. So its been aged naturally and the tone is comes with the guitar. It might help to show off some of those fingers with some finger-style chords. Find demo as usual. Thanks!

Is there a bad sounding '56 martin?)

@@privetetiket would you believe me if I said the ones I’ve played were disappointing? This one sounded great.

Are you using any reverb when recording these videos or is it just the overtones of the guitar?
@softmatzahАй бұрын
I think it’s the guitar
@forrestsguitarsАй бұрын
I actually do use just a bit of reverb, although I can always send a copy of the video without Reverb. There's not too much of a difference.

Nice! I have s 43 00-18. It was $19 at a thrift store in 1985 and only needed $100 to get it in excellent playing condition! It has a huge sound but that is more for the listener. I love to listen facing it. Even a rank beginner can produce beautiful sound

Guitar sounds amazing. You're amazing. Dang, watching you play make me want to throw my guitars on a bonfire. I will never be that good. Liked and subscribed just so I can watch you play.

Some guitars have that magic in them and play themselves. Yeah I guess you’re doing some of the work. Bravo.

This is just amazing, the way you play. May i ask what is your personal favourite guitar? The 00-18 sounds great :)
@forrestsguitars4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Man that is a tough question...I really enjoy a lot of the guitars that come through here. This 00-18 was certainly a standout. I've also been really impressed by a few of the all-mahogany Martins as well as a couple old Gibson L-00s. I think my playing style fits an old D-18 or D-28 the best though!
@johan.hugosson4 ай бұрын
You can have many favourites :) The all mahogany are very nice as well! Thanks again!
