Which did you like better? Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive or Butterfly Diode V?
@WeeklyFreshTableTennis5 ай бұрын
I did not try VKM Offensive. I only had VKM Regular but both are nice. And I enjoyed that blade until it got damaged. In this video, I was comparing Diode to Palio I had. It's just that Diode V and Feint Long 3 were a stronger combo in terms of generating more backspin. Diode grabs the ball better I guess.

I appreciate your feedback, Diego. Could you explain a little bit more about "the interaction with the space"? Also, if you have any ideas to improve these videos or practices, please do not hesitate to share it with us.
@diegox.longpips10 ай бұрын
@@WeeklyFreshTableTennis I mean how you move according to the amount of space that you have around. Sometimes, in close shots, you can not see how big is the space around the player. When you can see it, like in this case, is easy to get how you use the space around for your advantage. I think this is even more important for defence players that use to play far from table. About the video for me seems fantastic, of something appears in my mind, I will comeback to write it. Regards

Filus is my absolut favourite among material players. I try to use some of his tecniques myself, but it's not easy to copy the best combi player in the world. The secret here is (I think...) is variation... never let the opponent get comfortable , always alter your game (as good and as much as you can...). The initial serve was not half-long, it was long, and very much attackable.
@WeeklyFreshTableTennis Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. This is a debate-able thing but something not that important. All half-long intended serves could end up a tiny long or right on the white line or a little before it. They clearly differ from what we know as an intended long serve. Plus, with the backhand flick revolution, even short & very loaded serves can be attacked too. From this perspective, so yes, this half long (or whatever-it-is ) serve could have been attacked too, but it takes guts to do so. Regardless of the fact whether it was long or half long or half short, the points I'm trying to share in these videos are the set ups... To me, this serve is not sent in the vacuum. It was served with the aftermath in mind. So it is part of a set up, and too easy to miss when we just watch these games. I shared it as I found it valuable & easy enough to be studied / practiced and brought to our personal toolbox. This video was all about highlighting this aspect of table tennis in an effort to help making a mental revolution in our minds ( especially in my own ) so that we start internalizing that a point is not always about the current strike we are about to execute, but many times, it could be about a planned combination with the previous strike. When we start playing TT with this mind set, then strategies start developing, unforced errors are lessen, and a deeper dimension into the game starts developing. With these videos, I try to aim only that. As we all know, there are countless of combinations in this fantastic sport, and if/when we start paying attention to these strategic combos and trying to understand them and practice them in our drills, we should surely gain some mileage.

When chopping a fast approaching topspin, is your racket angle more vertical? or should I keep a farther distance and wait for the arc of the ball to go down befoere chopping? ANyways loved your vids!
@WeeklyFreshTableTennis Жыл бұрын
Excellent question... something I am trying to settle too... I think one would eventually figure this out after enough exercise... and the answer to this question may differ from one person to another. I started realizing the following though: if the ball is too fast then it is better to do a vertical-encounter and let the pimples do the job. this is safer and I score more success in applying this then trying to go underneath the ball and then try to horizontally chop . There are two problems with the horizontal chop here. First, it is more challenging to make that perfect timing with a fast ball and second, there is no need to add more energy to a ball that already has energy. I think this is what JSH does in those situations too. Though his regular chops is already employing a more vertical angle (than what I ended up adopting for my self ), he goes more vertical when the ball speed ( and angle ) gets more serious. It's just more logical I guess. So the simple answer to your question, IMHO is vertical encounter is better as the ball gets speedier.
