The racing is good here, but this looks like one of the most dangerous race tracks in the world for spectators. There’s no wall only a dirt bank. The way that car went over the back dirt bank means a car could go over the bank anywhere. That shaky wheel fence is not going to stop at 2700 pound car.

Sucks that both races are on one's 4cyls don't run. Well, some day, I will watch this series life. I don't see It going away any time soon. I love the lower race format, and I think the drivers do also.

Petty Raceway was actually a stock car track before it was abandoned. Operated from 1983-2000, and spent a decade closed. Reopened in 2011 and continues to see improvements and become a top track!

Glad to see this. Unfortunately my local asphalt short tracks for the first time aren't listing any late model events for the upcoming season. Instead pushing open wheel specials. Will lose me as a spectator.

I remember seeing the Super modifieds from Oswego at the oval in Douglastown NB...It was in the early 70's.......The night before, when they came into town, they assembled at the MET shopping center, in Newcastle, and I was lucky enough to see one of the cars push start, and the car made a few laps around the parking lot...Still remember the sound and smell.....magic.....

That is awesome! The sound and smell sure are magic - and I'm sure the sensation of speed from the super modifieds would be too! One of our SLMS admins is from Miramichi and has a newspaper clipping of when the super modifieds competed in Douglastown in the 70's! Thanks for sharing!

I replayed it multiple times I got a good I sight of it if I look closely enough, wild ride, I was focused on turns 1 and 2 when I heard ambulance rushing towards pit entrance

It'd be nice if, in the future, this series could invest in a scoring pylon for the replay so we can know who's running where, and the amount of laps remaining. Also, maybe have more TV cameras around the tracks and even some onboards. Other than that, I'm looking forward to the next race. 🙂

Oh man this is such an amazing scene and so unique to the USA! I’m from Germany and we have only one oval track in Germany (which has no races anymore since over 20 years, the last time a race was there when CART/INDYCAR came to Europe and raced the Eurospeedway Lausitz). If we’d had a local shorttrack scene I would definitely watch every race and I would also built a car myself! There’s no more local Motorsport in Germany anymore which is really sad.. Oh and I also think it’s sad that so few people are at the local tracks in the USA these days, the grandstands should be fully crowded at your oval! I hope the local shorttrack scene doesn’t die out because of the lack of peopl watching. It would be incredibly sad, since this is something very special that people can only enjoy in the USA. How often I just wish I live in the USA, I love the country!

We are actually located in Canada! We are in the Maritime provinces, with this race being in New Brunswick! However, we are only hours from the border with USA, but racing is very strong up here! A note - this race was actually postponed part way through to the next day. There was a much bigger crowd in attendance for the original date, but right before our feature event it started to rain, forcing things to get delayed. Hope you enjoy our races, as we plan to keep posting all year! We love having fans from all over, and would love to see you make the trip over some day!

Race control had discussed this exact situation when creating the rulebook, and had the procedures in place to follow to keep it fair!

@SLMSeries ya. I wish more Series did that. 18 had no where's to go. I'm happy it didn't cut down a tire on the 29.

@@jrracingteam1732 it actually did 😮 But it made it to the end. Greg said in an interview with RaceTime Radio the tire was going flat - they found out when they checked after the race but it had just enough left to bring home the win!

@SLMSeries wow! Luckily, there wasn't another caution. Good racing to the line, though. Speedway 660 and now this. Most Pro-Stock racing I find boring. But I have liked the side by side racing and a lot of good battles this srries has had so far. Keep it up.

Yes I did enjoy watching racing can you send me more filming on the races for 2024 so I can enjoy the first race of the season to the last race of the race please and thank you sincerely Christopher wright. Like Darell waltrap always said let's go racing boys and girls boogie boogie boogie. I miss this when I watch racing with Darrell wiltrap and his famous words trying to keep his memory live and remember Darrell when he used to drive 11 and 17 car plus when he finally won the Daytona 500 race and his victory celebration too I sure do miss Darrell at the booth especially let's go racing boys and girls boogie boogie boogie
