No need to join. Just go to the website shown in the video: cardgames.io/checkers/ There are also instructions on the same page under the "Rules" tab.

One of the rules in checkers is if you have a jump, you have to take it. That's how you set people up. Otherwise it's just a game of luck.

Hi, Chris. How did you get the red screen recorder button to show up in your control panel? I downloaded a screen recorder but I have to open/close the app to stop and start the screen recording, which shows up in the video. Thx for this useful tip about ShowMe!

Hi Cynthia. First you need to have an iOS of at least 11.0 on your iPad in order to be able to do a screen record. Next you will need to select the record button in your control center. Open the settings icon. Go to Control Center. Select Customize Controls, then turn on the Screen Recording button. Now when you swipe to get the control center it should be there. Here is more info: www.macrumors.com/how-to/record-iphone-ipad-screen-ios-11/ Hope this helps!

Hey, Chris. Thanks! I didn't even know that my iPad (7th gen) had a built-in screen recorder. I added it to the control panel and I recorded my Showme as you demonstrated. This was an ingenius work-around to the paid subscription. However, when I posted the screen recording to my students in Canvas, the playback had a terrible lag time, to the point that it was not usable. It lagged by like 30 seconds so that as I spoke, the writing that I was speaking about was not on the screen until much later. Have you experienced this? At this point, I'm wondering if I pay for Showme and use their posted links, whether I would have the same problem with lag time....

@@cynthiaweiner2960 Glad you discovered the built-in screen recorder. It was something that I too stumbled upon! As for lag time, I imagine it is either a memory/speed issue with your iPad or a cleaver way that the ShowMe app uses lots of processing power to discourage the screen recording feature and encourage the purchase of the subscription service. It might be worth paying for a month ($7.50/month - www.showme.com/pricing) and see if you have the same issue. If it fixes the lag issue, you can decide if it is worth it to keep paying. If it doesn't, you are only out $7.50. Wishing you the best of luck!

@@chrisleechss Good idea. However, first I'm researching whether I can get the same functionality for free in either Nearpod (for which my district has a premium subsctiption) or Google Jamboard. I avoid paying for monthly subscriptions out of my own pocket for work-related apps as much as possible (my salary is low enough) but I do love Showme, so we'll see. I'm not finding Nearpod very easy to use for some reason...

Question, is that discount still available ? When was it that you saw it advertised with a 50% discount?
@chrisleechss
@chrisleechss 4 жыл бұрын
All discounts were during School Closures from March to June 2020 (end of last school year). As of today (Sept 27, 2020) the price listed on my ShowMe app are the same as what is in the video. Not sure if this is a new discount for the 2020-21 school year. Good Luck!

This video makes a few corrections to the video lesson on x & y intercepts. I have since learned a few unique features in Graspable Math that needed to be corrected in this video. To watch the original video click here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHXNknuio7OBbZo) but do make note that the corrections in this video are necessary.
