I love how when Neil's guitar strap comes undone and he almost drops the guitar while jamming the harmonica. So he's grabbing hold of the guitar by the strings, playing the harmonica without missing one emotive note, and someone tries to help by taking his guitar before it drops. BUT YOU DON"T TAKE NEIL YOUNG'S GUITAR AWAY FROM HIM -- he's like: not from from cold dead hands can you take this. This is why I love that generation of music makers. We'll never see nuthin' like this again. Oh sweet nuthin!

Old man lying by the side of the road With the lorries rolling by Blue moon sinking from the weight of the load And the buildings scrape the sky Cold wind ripping down the alley at dawn And the morning paper flies Dead man lying by the side of the road With the daylight in his eyes Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning Find someone who's turning And you will come around Blind man running through the light of the night With an answer in his hand Come on down to the river of sight And you can really understand Red lights flashing through the window in the rain Can you hear the sirens moan? White cane lying in a gutter in the lane If you're walking home alone Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning Find someone who's turning And you will come around Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning Just find someone who's turning And you will come around Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning Just find someone who's turning And you will come around

There's an indy artist in Connecticut that just started doing a Neil Young solo tribute show and it's absolutely amazing how much he sounds like Neil, even on his own original music. I've never heard anyone whose voice is this close to Neil's. I think it would be amazing if he could get Neil's ear and even meet him...maybe even get to do some stuff with him. He just posted a video of a full performance of the show (he calls it "The Loner: The Music of Neil Young") he did at a small club in Bridgeport, CT. See what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXzOpZmCYrmbgdE

Her back up vocals imho, were an essential key to his unique sound on earlier records...too bad her talent wasn't ever singled out until too late in life. Sad so sad.

It's cool they are all performing this song together as a tribute to the late Lou Reed and his band the Velvet Underground. It sounds pretty good, however way back in 2010 the Black Crowes covered this song, just because they loved it. The Crowes rendition is so heart-felt and passionately delivered with a genuine conviction, that comparing the two versions wouldn't be necessary and would actually be unfair. I love Neil Young and E. Costello yet I question what they're doing sitting in with My Morning Jacket.

This is from a concert Neil used to have annually for the Bridge School Foundation for students with significant special needs. Many artists appeared (for free) to raise funds for the school/charity. Not only did they perform solo sets, but many musicians generously sang together, especially in this tribute to Lou Reed, who had recently passed. It was always a wonderful love fest for the children, the artists/musicians, and the audience. So happy I was able to be in the audience for so many of these events.

this was actually the day lou reed died. they threw this tribute together that day, i was there in the crowd, and this is how i learned that lou reed had died.

It's great, but the David Johhanssen, Earl Slick version is the best I have found so far. Great to see this almost unknown classic, from the post Cale VU period is getting aired, and making new fans. For me, the best example of Reed's epic lyrical poetry there is. Coney Island baby also needs mentioning in that conversation, the drugged out rambling first half is wild

To bad Neil Young got all preachy and cancel culture woke Marxist. I guess freedom of speech was never in his lexicon. He gets all his fake news from Canada's government network THE C.B.C. Canadian tax payers pay $2 Billion a year to keep that Marxist drivel functioning. I suppose Mr. (Old Fart) Young gets a cut.
