The reason Anthony was crying is because his mom died not long after this and just got from France to bury his mom. Watching this video about twenty times, I come to the term where this was a sign from his mom to let him know everything will be okay.

GREAT band. This wasn't one of their best efforts. It happens. They're normally SO very tight. Whether it was the room, the miking, maybe Russ had the flu (best drummer out there now), or just an off night for some of the best musicians in the land - this performance was only "good". Until this video, I've never heard them give a less than great performance - whether a live show or a recording.

I am still wondering why he did this. Anyway I like it because it is so much Reed-Music and I am very much into his work. Thanks for sharing. He did not destroy anything. A cover always should be as far from the original as possible, otherwise it is boring.

Two things … First of all, Morrissey really does have the most superb voice. Still to this day. Secondly, this has stood the test of time as a properly fantastic track, musically and lyrically (as in original lyrics 😂)
