Did you add some polyethylene on top to seal or just leave as is.

Thank you for the really good explanation and demo about the ratio of paint to fabric softener. It was so helpful to see it in real time. I am excited to try your technique. Will use exactly the same products you used. Looks great!

Will this paint work on faux leather ? Or would acrylic paint be better

Clean with tsp, then sand, so you don’t sand grim into the counters.

Seeing few patches of paint on the wall, no matter how good you think you are, always put tape all over the counter, sink…and cover the lowers cabinets with plastic.

I've done 4 coats and the texture is more suede like, it's not getting rubbery. What am I doing wrong?
@emmanies49012 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. What is the fabric’s original texture?
@TamaraVose2 жыл бұрын
@@emmanies4901 It was like a velour. I think maybe I didn’t use enough fabric softener?? I might add more for the next coat and see the f it makes a difference.
@emmanies49012 жыл бұрын
@@TamaraVose velour may be tricky. Yes I would add more softener, just be careful not to add too much.

I've seen a few videos showing this technique now and it's really fascinating. I'm just wondering how they hold up to the daily wear and tear? Can these pieces be used or are their just decorative? Does it crack after some time or does the paint come of and reveal the fabric? Also, I had the idea, that maybe you could speed up the process for building up the thickness of the layers, if you use another, thicker latex product in-between, as the second to forth layer? More like frosting a cake. And then layer 5 and 6 to get the color you want. I was thinking of this rug-making glue. The one they put onto the tufted pieces as backing. As far as I know that's latex-based, too. Maybe it can even be tinted or mixed with the fabric softener, too
