They keep highlighting the wrong musician. The clarinet plays so they show the trumpets. His first solo, the sound was a sax. Yikes!

Little Renata (Big Renata was of course Tebaldi) combined vocal freedom with dramatic conviction in these early days, and Carreras was at his peak. Thanks for sharing this.

About the question why Ludwig was cast for Adalgisa opposit Callas: I wondered myself for many years, someday I heard an interview from Ludwig on radio, where she herself explained. Another singer was to sing the part , but got sick, so a replacement was needed at very short notice. She herself would never have dreamt of singing with Callas, because she thought her voice wouldn ´t fit. But she managed alright!
Who is still here in 2024 to hear her ur voice at 3.45?

As much as I love Julie Andrews I absolutely love Audrey's acting. I love her in this movie. She's wonderful! She is exactly the person to play Eliza! Exquisite!

She didn’t sing. Marnie Nixon sang for her. I love her but Julie Andrews should have gotten the part.
