Even with a proper rack, the canoe will stay far more stable if a little more than half of the boat is behind the point of support instead of in front of it as shown here. The farther it sticks out the front, the more mechanical advantage you are giving to the wind as that wind pushes in various directions on the canoe's nose (anyone who understands how a crowbar works can appreciate this). On the other hand, the farther it sticks out the back from the point of support, the more it tends to trail along quietly like a weather vane. Try it both ways and see, especially at highway speed in cross winds or in the turbulence behind big trucks. In really windy weather I mount the boat even farther back than I would otherwise. It provides huge improvement, no question about it.

I enjoyed this very much. Someone lands with a with a ton of fire wood and do a bit of fishing. When he gets bored, he takes the helicopter back. In order to avoid any risk he stays in the outskirt of town near a dump with empty oildrums. And finally he calls it: SURVIVORMAN. Much more interesting would be to see how to make a fire with the natural vegetation - not with the firewood he brought with him - but that would probably be too much for this office guy.

Les is the real deal. He truly attempts to educate as his primary mission and uses useful information with both humor and humility. No sensationalism here. Just realism. And when he scores a meal, you feel like u scored one too. Completely inspiring. Les. Take me on an adventure’. I’ll survive or die trying. U da man. A medic.

So awesome seeing him circle Wilpena Pound there. Of course, that's a cheat - either side of the Flinders Ranges its *way* drier and less hospitable, here there's excess rainfall and the odd creek. But nice to see my childhood camping grounds!

400 A B C? HRC ? Stainless + coating? Why not 1095 and coating? Even Schrade use it. False edge and serrations on the part of the blade used the most for carving? Titanium? hammer head that is glued to plastic? Black and grey as surviving colours? Why does it look like Bear Grylls knife? Love your TV shows but that knife was not designed by any expert.
