Anyone selling or trading a watch to grey dealers, especially gold Rolex is stupid IMO. They will always get fleeced IMO. Watches should be bought to keep and enjoy, not to enrich grey dealers.

After dealing with Rolex, I can’t fault anyone for flipping. It’s a joke of a process, and I’m over it. I’ll buy the one Rolex I want when I get a gently used one for my price. If it never happens, fine. Lots of other great options out there.

The reason for them selling is not to enrich the secondary market. They are selling because they need to sell. We provide a service for those in need of selling. People understand that dealers (watches, cars, boats, and even homes) all need to be sold below market in order to be resold. There is always the route of selling privately (for market value) however the majority of people prefer selling to a dealer for the convenience.

It's always better to sell and just keep the money because when you trade you're not only already going to get lower value for your own watches, but you're going to probably lose more money on the watch you're trading for when you try to sell it or trade it again later on for something different lol Good time to just buy the 116500ln references... NY grey market prices are generally 26-28k for panda and around 23-24k for black

Actually! Dealers generally offer higher prices when buying watches AND give lower prices when selling. This helps a customer sell their watch at a higher value and get into a new watch at a lower prices. You are spot on with the Panda. Black dial 116500 spot on as well. Black dual 126500 27-29

I’m switching to collect more exclusive pieces , Rolex market now is not exclusive even when you can not get it at the store , the gray market is oversaturated with all this second hand with papers no papers units as the only way Rolex let people buy their watches , now is not way to tell to the regular eye if you wearing a replica o not. So from the valet parking , the Casanova, drug dealers, gigolos, executives and grand pa’s they all wearing @Rolex and no one know if they are the real deal or not. Exclusivity is not there any more. I’m collecting a more interesting spectrum of pieces more difficult to fake, with the same or even more tradition than Rolex. #SayNotToRolex

ADs will have a really hard time selling most gold models... Especially boring ones like Datejust which are just piling up everywhere... Steel models, I expect, will become more available as the market cools. Hype watches will remain hard to find though.
