I'd have given up after the 10th kick, and jumped in my car for my pie and sausage roll. When i was a kid they started 3rd kick or you were walking. Same for the bantams. There were squillions of them. Doh, no longer.
Very handsome machine indeed - always liked the 'Featherbed' look

What’s the line that the screw driver is plugging? And where do the yellow lines run to? I have a 85 gpz900 and I’m having issues finding some things out lol
@classicbikelife2 ай бұрын
@@KnownAsGoat screwdriver blocking vacuum to petrol tap as not there. Yellow line temp fuel fed to middle of carb fuel rail

@@classicbikelife thank you. Did what you said and I got it started and running with no problems this time around so thank you.

I’d say it’s probably not a strong enough spark or the timings out also the number you thought was the date is just the id number it’s probably more like 1930s 40s

Lovely machine. And Wow You got Twin Carburettors. A pair of fully Shrouded Shocks would look Great on the bike since its in standard trim. Just my opinion only. Nice bike ❤

That cylinder head came off a pushmower didn't it? In my 3.5hp horizontal shaft? I have a 3.5hp push mower engine's - (connecting rod/camshaft/lifters. Currently swapping the head too now. Looks to have higher compression. But she spins 9,500rpm on a tach. Sound's wicked with a straight pipe too. Shoots flames and handles the high rpm like a champ. I think the push mowers rod? Is thicker and stronger. The push mowers cam had much more valve lift and a de-comp that disengages after startup. The metal factory cam? Has a permanent decompression. But i mean she runs like a scalded dog now. I love it. Was well worth it considering the engine sat outside since the 50s or 60s.

Got a hoatian arrow which is basically the same bike, for reference if you ever feel that the stock 157fmi motors are a bit on the.. slow as balls side, the 172fmm 250 motors are a direct drop in, 8hp to 23 makes a massive difference!
