I was the grand princess prizes winner last year and won a cruise for 2 for 7 days! Honestly, I never win anything so that was probably everything I haven't won in my lifetime wrapped into one!

I don’t recall there being one close to the bed on this ship. However, if you contact the cruise line prior to your sailing, they can make arrangements for an extension cord and water.

$60 US is $95NZ and we only interested in the drinks. We going from NZ to Australia on a 6 day cruise. Do you know how much a cocktail is on average? Will have no more than 2 a day. Might not be worth having the plus package then.
@take2-travel
@take2-travel 15 күн бұрын
When we were on the Emerald Princess back in August, the pricing ranged from $12-$15 US for their standard cocktails. If you wanted a cocktail with higher shelf alcohol, those ranged from $16-$20 US. The beer ranged from $9-$11 US.

I’ve heard that gratuities are no longer in the plus and premier packages? . Can you tip privately instead of paying gratuities?
@take2-travel
@take2-travel 16 күн бұрын
The gratuities are not included in the Plus and Premier drink package, but are included in the Plus and Premier packages. They made it a bit confusing. I made a video explaining it, here is the link. Why You Should Never Buy The Princess Drink Package kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppPPdqqDgKyFkKc You have the option to tip in cash if you prefer. If you'd like to adjust or remove the prepaid gratuities, you can do so at the ship's customer service desk.

Yes, that is correct. The only restaurant that requires a reservation is the Hibachi table. You can still eat at regular tables without a reservation, you just can’t get the hibachi experience.

How does Royal handles the drinks once onboard. For example I got the drink package with Carnival on last cruise and once onboard you could only get one beverage every 5 minutes meaning you couldn't get a specialty coffee and a bottle of water at the same time or a soda and a water it was only one item per 5 mins. I've been on NCL and MSC before and was able to get two drinks every time I ordered.
@take2-travel
@take2-travel 18 күн бұрын
Royal is very similar to the way you described NCL and MSC. I have always been able to get bottles of water with my coffee or other drinks with no issues. The sodas are in freestyle machines, so those do have a time limit. When getting alcoholic drinks, mocktails, and coffee, I have always been able to get bottled water with them. Safe travels.

Plus vs Premier should not evaluate Premier compared to neither package. I would evaluate the increased price versus the extra benefits (more casual dining, specialty dining, other things you might use like extra fitness classes, extra premium deserts, photo package, increased wifi, more expensive drinks like wine, heavy drinker over 15 drinks a day). Even only doing casual dining every other day and specialty dining every other day (now it is unlimited and the package difference is $30), the extra benefit is almost $30/day, anything else will push it over $30 and show benefit.

Titanic didn't take "over" 1,500 lives. 1,497. It's Mount Olivet, not Mount Olive. Peggy's Cove. I used to work there as an information & safety officer. I know many people there. My best friend's family owns the dining room & gift shop. After my job was eliminated in 2001, I began driving & guiding tours to the place. I know very, very well. In 1765 navigational charts identified the little cove as "Peg's Harbour." The name Peg, or Peggy, came about by one of two sources: First, that girl of about 14 or 15 was the sole survivor of a shipwreck who was found on the rocks by the villagers. She was taken into a home to be cared for. The only word she would was "Margaret." The villagers decided her name was Margaret and they began to call her Peggy, the diminutive form of Margaret. The story of her survival soon spread & people began to travel there to see "Peggy of the Cove." Peggy eventually married a fisherman who was later lost at sea. It was officially named Peggy's Cove in 1811. Some people -- none of whom live in the village -- say there's a ghost of a lady in a blue dress who stand on the rocks with her arms reaching out to sea. And it's B/S. The other source of the name comes from the simple fact that Peggy's Cove is part of St. Margaret's Bay. The bay is big and the cove is small. Swissair 111 crashed at 10:32PM. I was living right across the street from the Mount Olivet Cemetery -- in the red brick apartment building -- and I saw news of the crash come up on the TV as I was chatting with a friend in Texas. The TV showed a map of Nova Scotia with X over Peggy's Cove. I told my friend I had to go, and I hopped in the car. I was opening our office at The Cove at 11:10PM. I then went down to the wharf & jumped on one of the fishing boats going out. I won't go into detail about what I was doing for the rest of the night, so all is say is that of the 229 people killed, there was one intact body found. After the navy & coast guard took over, I was working the shoreline. When the families began to arrive on scene, my coworker and I would help them get down close enough to drop a token, or flowers into the ocean. Imagine assisting in multiple -- 5, 6, 10 -- funerals a day for a week. That was the hardest part for me; seeing peoples' grief & anguish. On day 4 I went to a secluded spot in the rocks we knew of, and puked my guts out for 15 minutes. The whole experience was the most surreal episode of my life, thus far. The world's press descended on tiny Peggy's Cove. I saw limos and sheiks with armed guards, I even ended up in People Magazine. It was nightmarish, grisly, sad, and fascinating. I'm proud -- if that's the right word -- to have been part of it. A few minor slip ups, but all in all a good video.

We purchased the Plus package for our next cruise and paid $60 per day. We were told the $60 includes the 18% gratuities and we wouldn't be charged more while using the package. Was this incorrect and has anyone received a bill for the gratuities at the end ot their cruise?
@take2-travel
@take2-travel 25 күн бұрын
Princess is sneaky with their wording of the plus drink package and the regular plus package. I tried to cover the major difference in the video later on, but may not have conveyed it well, I didn’t want to make the video too long. If you purchase the Princess Plus package the gratuities are included and you will not have to pay anything. Even the typical room steward and restaurant server gratuities are covered. If you purchase the Princess Plus beverage package you will be charged an additional 18% and the other gratuities are also not covered.

@teresah5318
@teresah5318 26 күн бұрын
I agree. The Plus and Premier packages are a good value. I priced it out for the daily cost for us. That includes specialty coffee, juices, bottled water, sodas and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. That is about $50 - $60 a day just for beverages. Add daily gratuities and Wi-Fi and that's approximately $40 a day. Exceptional Wi-Fi even. Approximate daily total for us is $90 a day. So that $60 a day charge is a no brainer. The Plus package usually works for us because we get a good amount of OBC that covers specialty dining for 2 dinners or more on a 14-day cruise. We bumped up the package to Premier for our 54-day cruise because we will not have enough OBC to cover specialty dinners just to start with. On that long of a cruise, we figure to eat specialty dining 2 -3 times a week. Besides this is a special cruise for us so we want the "extras" that come with it. I remember when they started the packages, and it was very simple. Drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities for $40 a day. This was a few years ago, can't remember how long ago. Thanks for sharing!

What does it mean “theme parties”? Is it at night? Where?
@take2-travel
@take2-travel 29 күн бұрын
They change up their themes throughout the year, but the some of the themed night we have seen are Greek night, Mexico nigh, and Western night. The staff will typically dress in themed attire for that evening and some nights offer food and drinks themed around that specific topic. The music and dances are also themed around that topic. They are in the evening and the location can change. Some nights they were held on the beach while other in some of the larger outdoor common areas.

@take2-travel

Yes, you can find them listed on Virgin’s website in the same area you go to books shore excursions. Or, as they call them, shore things. The price varies based on location, but they do have several available that are close to the beach and ocean. These do sell out fast and are among the first to get booked, so if you want one, be sure to get it as soon as possible.

No, that costs extra. I wish it was included, I would definitely take advantage of that. At some Breathless & Secrets Resorts, if you stay in their VIP club (Xhale club for breathless or Preferred club at Secrets) they will give you access to the Hydrotherapy area in the spa. You will have to look at the amenities to see which resorts include it. I don’t believe this one does. Safe Travels!

Actually, the 18 percent is included in the plus and premier packages. It’s not included in the plus and premier drink package. They are two different options. The drink packs is include in the plus and premier package, so if someone buys just the drink package they are paying more and getting less benefits. Princess just changed these options not long ago and it can be confusing. I’m going to do another video soon explaining the differences between these.
