World Ukulele

Sounds really fantastic. Steel strings, I think. But how are they tuned?

Thanks. It’s a guitar bouzouki. Like a big mandolin tuned GDAD.

Amazing cover! Jose Gonzales' version is also a cover, so you're in good company. The original is by a band called The Knife.

The TG 150 looks very nice , and has a beautiful sound ; i don't know if tuned A D G C would sound a lot different. However, i think that among all the tenors that i've seen , this is one of the best ( just my opinion) . Regards , Patrick from Italy
@WorldUkulele2 ай бұрын
@@patrickbuzzo1970 A D G C is a tuning I’ve never played in. What type of music do you normally play in that tuning?
@patrickbuzzo19702 ай бұрын
@WorldUkulele Hi, thanx for having contacted me . I have 4 instruments and they are all tuned A D G C, because my first stringed instrument was a tenor banjo ( 1985) , i kept my banjo until the late 90's , and later i've bought an acoustic Hora Acoustic Bouzouki, i had to buy another set of strings to adapt it for that kind of tuning , because the irish Bouzouki is tuned in a different way ; same for my electric bouzouki, semi hollow , hand made, which i use with some guitar pedals ,to achieve ,as much as possible , that " Byrds sound" , even if i know that only a Rickenbacker can give you the famous Mc Guinn atmosphere . I have a band since 1988 , we play our own songs , during the years we had few tunes of known groups , for example " 100 years from now" ( the Byrds) , "It's all over now" ( written by Bob Dylan, but played like the Byrds ) , Rave on ( Nitty Gritty Dirty Band) , and , as last cover , " My Bonnie " ( the Beatles) . I also have a tenor guitar, hand made , looks like a Tenorcaster , very " twangy " . When i discovered the Eastwood brand , a new world of instruments came to my eyes , and i bought the Tenorbaritone, changed the strings with a lighter gauge, and it is very playable , the only problem , is the weight , seems a stone !! If you check on my channel , search these videos :" for Astrogerry and Enzo Rapaccioulo " , Byrd song treble booster pedal " , " from East to West " , this last video came out dark , i'm sorry , but you can hear my Hora Acoustic Bouzouki. Thanx again , i wish you all the best. Patrick from Italy 🖐

I can't stop listening to this song. thank you very much for uploading. Do you play with a high D string?
@WorldUkulele7 ай бұрын
Thanks. It’s a low D string so have to be careful to not hit it like a drone string. Allows to play lower melody notes though.
@deltafour12127 ай бұрын
Are you using the thumb to play the 2 low strings and the index and middle to pluck the melody? What fingerpicking pattern you're using.
@WorldUkulele7 ай бұрын
Yes, using the thumb to play the 2 low strings, index on next and middle on highest string. Not really a picking pattern. Picking to fit around the melody.
