Useless for large breasts, this isn't even close to enough support. If you have smaller breasts that will somehow be supported by this little piece of elastic, just wear nipple covers and don't bother with this.

This tutorial is the best- I cannot believe how well this worked! I bought a new pair of jeans this summer for a trip in November; they were a little big then. By the time I went to wear them this fall they were so big. I thought they were a lost cause but figured I would attempt to take them in since I couldn’t wear them anyhow (first time taking in pants). I ultimately was able to take in 3 inches and bury the darts down into the back pockets. I seriously am floored and am so excited to wear my new jeans!! I was overwhelmed watching a tutorial that ripped down the whole back seam but this felt so doable. The steps were well explained and super clear. Thanks for the great video and tips! I still can’t believe it worked and I did it myself😂

Those two knots wont last.
@ameliagfawkes512Ай бұрын
Even if you've double-knotted, don't clip it so close. Leave a tail and hide it inside the dart. If the stitching does begin to show a "hole" simply pull them through, undo the knots, redo the knots and hide them inside the dart again. Especially important if it's a very fitted piece.

If you use tracing paper with a tracing wheel makes the marking step even easier

And then you don’t have to clip the fabric.

Sew off the fabric at the dart tip 1 to 2 stitches.

I would have just bound the inner seam instead of lining.

Hello hello hello!!! I am so very excited to start my first ever sewing project!! I turned 44 last week but i only know how to stitch with zip ties, duct tape and prayer. Due to having an ileostomy i can only sleep on my back. I have designed a matching leg to stomach blanket and a chest blanket to allow me access to my ostomy during the night without having to remove all my blankets losing the heat. I cant handle the cold either so i incorporated an heating element for my chest. My cat has a great pad for his tree. I went and got the same pad for myself. The pad looks like a Bulletproof plate but as a thick pad. Then i have the fluffy blanket where it has flaps to cover my arms and i found 80% wool as the outer shell. I am not sure if i want the pad first or if im going to sandwich the pad between the fluffy and the wool. The heating element will need to be removable. Please suggest the types of stitches that i will benefit most from. My attention span can be limited at times therefore i would like a stitch that is fast to place and secure. Having an ostomy especially sucks during the winter because big blankets put pressure on the bag causing leaks. For my lower body i have an electric blanket and a narrow fluffy blanket. In the future i will use another pet blanket just to add material over my legs, a bit of insulation and a wool shell. The 2 will meet just over my ostomy. This prevents heavy blankets on my stomach, blankets falling off the bed and unnecessary material between my wife and I. Thank you for reading my post. Please feel free to suggest stitches or materials and anything you feel will help. 😊

Hi! I’m a therian mask maker and I work with fur a lot. I would recommend if you don’t have a blade like that, use small sharp scissors and put them close to the backing and make sure you can’t feel the scissors cutting though anything thick.

Where is the top part video?

Your tutorial is clear and precise and gives me the measurement I want. Other videos only fold up hem to where they desire, and then stitch under original seam. You instruct to cut your excess fabric measurement in half before stitching under the original seam. What is the difference and why is there variation in this technique? Yours makes the most sense to me.

Nice quick tutorial. Learnt a tip recently; use a basting stitch length that's not too long. Your gathering will be more stabilised so you can spread it more evenly.

Tail your knot between the layers so it won't slip out over time❤
@joannehickey70473 ай бұрын
So, instead of measuring the length of the dart, drawing/pulling enough thread to sew the dart from a bobbin filled with your top-stitching thread up through the sewing machine plates, then back threading the needle from the bobbin thread with enough thread to reach the tension guides and properly sew the dart, then sewing the dart from the point to the base bypassing the need for any thread knots or back stitching. You get a dart sewn with only one thread that achors itself at the point without any added thicknesses, just a single thead. It's a bit persnickety, but the finished product is next level.
@raptorjesus74363 ай бұрын
I stitch my dart « normal » as in not the top stitching way for security, then add top stitching when I want the look of top stitching on the dart. And the problem she’s bringing up here is specifically backstitching on the machine to finish the stitches which can look a little bulky and messy.

I struggle with this because I'm afraid of breaking the needle off when I move the fabric around. No matter how hard I try I always end up with a thread jam down in the needle plate.
