Found this video almost by accident - via a link in the Nottingham Concert Hall Sunday Piano series email. We are away when you will be playing there this January, such a pity! But this short video was almost as good a substitute, because we find out more about you as a person and a musician. Beethoven has been my most beloved composer since age 5 and it's delightful to hear how you perceive and love his music. A pleasure to meet you in this video, and we hope to see you perform in Nottingham again very soon.

I love the glass armonica. It sounds so beautiful yet it makes me sad when i hear this song played on it. It reminds me of my grandma 😢

Bankie born and bred, family home in Second Terrace was destroyed in the bombing, grandparents and my mum aged 8 crawled out through a hole blasted in the living room wall and made their way along Second Avenue, she described the heat of the road burning the soles of her bare feet as she was only in her nightie ... the family escaped but lost everything...the upstairs neighbours all died. RIP all innocent victims of war.

AI and spell checker have ruined us. Ruined us: glass "harmonica"???? not enough facepalm emojis, and yet this creator enjoys monetized clicks for the service of making content consumers dumber yet again.

I heard this live in Shenzhen last night in the RSNO New Year's concert. It was not in the program list so I didn't bring the Scottish flag with me, it I knew this music was in the list I would definitely wave the flag. As I Chinese film student, I spent my university career in Stirling, and this experience helped me growing to a man and enlightened my knowledge of film and culture. I love Scotland. Wish everyone reading this comment a wonderful new year.

He shows his voice through his harmony. Rich in colour, while steadfast in it's resiliance. The very balance all humans should learn to adopt. Thank you for exposing him to me and the rest of the world, RSNO!

Hi Ethan, thanks again for that link. Well, I’m on a journey trying to find ways of playing pieces I’ve played for a long time without Sight, which I know is just around the corner. That’s going very well. So far, not planning on learning anything new although today I came across that wonderful adagio of bach transcribed for piano in D. I guess you know that. It seems so straightforward it could be learned by ear with a bit of help. Anyhow, I can no longer read from White paper and now use an iPad Pro with scan music, which should do for about a year I hope! I should be listening to you, your music and what you have to say always looking out for tips and hacks! Stay well, and I enjoyed the Beethoven 1 very much.

Wonderful, Ethan. The playing was a joy, but also to hear you talk of what you get out of your music is fascinating. And who’s this Bert Hoven fella? Ha! Ha! Ha! Keep enjoying what you’re doing. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Katie has done such an amazing job on the look for this season, I have been absolutely enamoured by it since the first time I saw it. I love that RSNO was bold enough to embrace such a colourful look, it helps break any limiting preconceptions of who orchestral music is for. Makes me happy every time I pass Usher Hall!

The great thing about him is that no one ever would guess that he is not playing with his hands like everyone else. You hear him on the radio and think: he’s a great horn player! Not: he plays great with his feet
