Thank you so much for your programs on Tibetan settlements in Bylakuppe, in particular about Camp numbers 5 and 6. I was from Camp # 5 and initially went to school in Gulladhala and then to Central School in old camp one. Later on to Madras and Stanes High School in the Nilgiris, Madras State. At the time, everybody was hoping to return to Tibet within 5 or 6 years, and people used to say Tibet would gain independence soon, and even a local bird says, "Boe rangzen Thop," every morning. Well, even-though such dreams did not realized, Tibetans are doing so well in Bylakuupe by the grace and unparalleled wise leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Bylakuppe is now blessed with presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Kudos to Voice of Tibet for this episode and an excellent job by the correspondent on the interview. His memory is impressive - I can’t remember what I had for dinner last week. It is so very important to have on record and memorialize the history of our Tibetan settlements, not only in India but outside India too, so hopefully VoT will continue to make more broadcasts like these.

Biggest mistake we all in South are making is cultivation of Ginger crop. Lots of poisons are pumped in our air, water and most importantly ground water. This will cause lot of grave illnesses, including many cencers as our land, air, and water are polluted by the poisons prayed on Ginger. We will regret this for generations if we cant put a stop to few greedy fatmers asap.

Total number of Tibetan residents in the settlements in Bylakuppe at present is less tnan 7 thousand. At the fag end of the video, the young lady interviewer has mistakenly said that there are 70 thousand residents. in bylakuppe which i think is just a tongue slip, and one should not get confused.
