Hi i know this is an old video but i have an issue may be i might get some help. I know how to edit aircraft and custom paint but when i save it load the game the tail (logo) light gets too bright that the logo gets faded plz help i use fsx

Very helpful, thank you. I'm using Gimp. When I save as .bmp it defaults to 24bit. If I do save as 32bit opening that in dxtbmp is a washed out yellow color. Do you know why that is happening...I flatten layers prior..no alpha...thank you

Can you do a current...2018 slowed down version of painting something besides CLS....I have a paintkit ( but all the pieces are on one sheet..can they be separated. for a YS11 and I want to do Piedmont ...I bought Corel Paint x9 just for this project but I don't have a clue. I have watch so many videos but nobody does it with a new guy in mind..its like we're all prosand I am trying to watch this vid and catch on. Trying to use paint.net. I am 67 and the learning curve is short..lol. I think your instruction techniques are great but here in The South (USA)..we all talk slooooooooowwwww. Thanks

Every time I download from Project Opensky I always get the multi object error. One way to fix this is change the code. If the object has the same tittle name you change it to the livery of the aircraft you are going to use. If the aircraft routes to the same directory change the creator box and the FSX sequence number. And if the aircraft routes to the wrong model directory put in the correct model. here is a link to the Microsoft Flight Simulator Aircraft Configuration Tool and how to edit these BIN files. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx The first mistake made is the "Wrong Aircraft Type" error when reskinners make an aircraft they leave Type line blank. FSX requires this line or the aircraft will not load this is not FSX 2000 or anything before FSX 9 where you can get away with it. YOU MUST ALWAYS put the correct Type code in this box. Example: Simobjects\Airplanes is the default for aircraft. Simobjects\Rotorcraft is the default for Helicopters. Gliders and Ultralights fall under the Aircraft category. Second Mistake is the Tittle Error this one always rings alarm bells in FSX. If your aircraft is the same model as another aircraft you need to edit FSX Aircraft config so it says so. the tittle tells what an aircraft is, who made it, the model, if it is a jet, prop plane, turboprop, or helicopter the SIM file contains the same information and references the AIR file. ALWAYS FILL THIS OUT OR YOU GET ERRORS DON'T PUT THE CREATOR IN THIS BOX! Third mistake is the Panel Error this mistake is caused because the reskinner is using a legacy panel or did not even install one. If you have legacy panel change it so it reads Panel=(aircraft name) FSX you need to do this or you can't fly. Fourth mistake which also triggers the multi object error is the Texture Error this one always causes errors you need to put the aircraft texture in this box or it will trigger and error. Fifth is the Kneeboard Error and the ATC Error amateur reskinners always leave these out without the Kneeboard you can not preform your checklist or move the aircraft's switches or the panal. Without ATC you can't park or take off and doors, cargo holds, jetways, tractors, and all ramp equipment will malfunction and not work. all ways change these so the aircraft can work. the Sixth error is the Manufacture Error amateurs always mix these up with the creator. These need to say Aircreations, DG Aircraft, Airbus, Boeing, Bell, Sikorsky, Bombardier, Cessna, you get the picture these are the guys who make the aircraft modal. DON'T PUT YOUR NAME IN THIS BOX ALWAYS USE A REAL MANUFACTURE! the seventh and final error is the Creator Error this error can make your reskin not appear in game or launch without a thumbnail you must fill this out or the aircraft will not appear. I hope this helps people who install these reskins.

Do you know how to change a 256 color to dds and have FSX see it ? Or how do I upgrade a FS 2004 paint job to have a more realistic look in FSX. For example I found a real cool Martin P4M-1 Mercator but it looks really cheesy it is flat. I already have DXTBMP and have done several repaints there is on base texture to go from.
