After just under 2 minutes of what you said, the tears were welling up in my eyes. I needed to hear those words of having faith- even as small as a mustard seed, to continue to have faith in God. We just lost our house ( foreclosure & auction sale ), and with hardly any money to spare, we were living in our cars. Then, last night, our 26 year old daughter was in a car accident, with damage to both her car and the other person's vehicle. Our insurance will only pay for the damage to the other driver's car, and not for repair on our daughter's car. We just have basic liability insurance. Now, our family of 5 is living in just one vehicle. We had to put furniture and most of our belongings in 2 small storage units that are costly, and we joined a YMCA for the sole purpose of being able to take showers to cleanse ourselves. We still have bills and debts to pay and our money is quickly depleting itself with gas prices and food expenses. The hardest part about living in a vehicle in Texas is the high heat and humidity outside. Sleeping at night is a challenge as the mosquitos are terrible, but we must open our windows in order to breathe. We are thankful to God each time a breeze comes. All this to say that yes, sometimes, life seems helpless and hopeless, but as you said, we need to keep having faith in God, even if just the size of a mustard seed. I'm so happy for you, Sincominkosi!!!!!! Wow, that process sounds really difficult! In my state, you have to at least be 15 years old and either be in classroom or take a course online. If you pass the written test (with I think 80% passing), you have to keep the learner's permit for at least 6 months. Then you can take the actual driver's test. I'm similar to you in that I sometimes have low esteem if I can't do something right or not as well as someone else. On test days in high school, I was among the last to finish too. ;) Thank you for your encouraging words. The verses you shared from Proverbs is something that I've been thinking about recently. As my family faces the unknown, I have struggled with fully trusting God. But like Scripture says, I can't lean on my own understanding. You're such a joy, dear friend! What a lovely discussion this has been! 2nd Corinthians 6:14 says: " Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" -NKJV. You are right when you say that the unbeliever will keep us from fulfilling our God given purpose. We can also say that the unbeliever will also eventually mock at our position in Christ. We see this time and time again in families. We have our own story: because our biological parents are not believers, we had to severe all ties from them. They would mock at our Christianity, and ultimately, mock God. Hello Sincominkosi and Kundayi Caryn, I very much enjoyed this podcast. On the subject of purpose: my teen son used to ask me what our purpose is here on earth. I would tell him that it is to glorify God, and to bring glory to God. It was so easy for me to tell him this so casually and with a bit of pride because at that time, I was truly focusing on doing my best to glorify God in all that I did. However, because of a very trying circumstance that happened in my life within the past year that "ruffled my feathers" so to speak, I wonder what my Godly purpose truly is? How am I to bring glory to God if I am a bit bewildered at God's re-direction in my life that has me stumped, so to speak? This is a rhetorical question. I have been earnestly praying and asking God what He wants me to do. My husband tells me that our family's purpose is to do our channel. That the hymns and worship songs bring glory to God. Hello again, sweet Sincominkosi, it is a JOY to see you again so quickly after the recent episode.😍I am glad you mentioned the various ways that God speaks to us, such as through dreams, a nudging, through His Word, prayer, and even speaking directly to us. I am not giving myself heirs when I say this, but I've always heard an audible voice from God when He speaks to me. This has been this way since I was a young child, especially when He was giving me a heads up to an incident that was to happen. I am not a prophet, nor do I want that prestige, but for some reason, that is how God communicates with me. Other times, the Holy Spirit asks me to pray for someone that is struggling with something in the moment. To stop what I am doing, and PRAY. Interestingly, when you took a couple months off from your channel, I was led to pray for you constantly! Mainly to ward off the ememy's tactics to stray you from your Godly purpose. I sensed there was a spiritual battle going on, and prayer for you at that time was critical. All the glory goes to God! Thank you, sweet friend and sister in the Lord, for sharing this.
