It is a true wonder to be welcoming the New Year of 2025 by listening to the songs that lit my way, over fifty years ago. God blessed the world with Batdorf and Rodney and Godspeed to their wonderfully upbuilding songs.

That was pretty awesome John. Love all that "historical" stuff. Reminds me of the first time we met backstage at The Golden Bear all those decades ago. Hey, I had an idea to share. As a fellow guitarist? I've always appreciated your guitar playing. So how about putting up some guitar lesson vids for your music. Personally, I've always wanted to learn All I Need along with some others. How about it?

John, what a great song snd story. I can’t believe we met over 50 years ago at the A&W they would close up on the weekend nights and enclose the patio with tarps. Of course they served hot tea snd we’d slip out for a quick toke. Then you turned me on to McCabes. Those were the days. My wife and I almost met up with you again in Medford for a house concert I booked for you. We’re still up here in Moscow Idaho. But as soon as winters over we’re heading back to Oregon. I can’t believe I was your wife’s mailman in Culver City. Small world. Just finished a new song. I’ll figure a way to send it to you. Phil

I spent a couple weeks in the 70's around these guys when they played Chelsa St. Pub in San Antonio, TX. They were put up in an apartment in the complex where I was living. WoooHooo...did we have a GOOD time. Higher than the clouds most of the time. My friends and I went to see them every night while they were there. A Big Ass HOWDY to you fellas !!! So happy that I've found your music here on youtube.

I guess there's a reason they had Batdorf's name first. He wrote all the songs. They used to be 2 guys with very long hair and mustaches where you couldn't see much of their faces. They still can hit the notes and the volume, just to stand up and play guitar and sing for an hour isn't easy. They are musicians with muscles trained from years of playing and practicing

I discovered Batdorf & Rodney in 1976 or 1977, while being in the house of one of my friends. She selected a vinyl and… those harmonies and guitars blew my mind. Not too long after that our lives followed different paths. I have been around 45 years with some of their tunes in my mind, but never found any record, or any recorded session till now. It’s like coming back to my magic 16 or 17 years. Thanks, John and Mark, your music has been with my soul along all these years

@@JohnBatdorfMusic your song famous enough brings back the initial reason for wanting to be a musician, singer or the songwriting , it was the music first and the creativity next, it never really was the pursuit of money as the main goal. Your song story, if says that in your way that I can totally relate to, and I just love how you put it your words in your experience. Sure the moneys Good sometimes, enough to buy a guitar or in my case win a chunk of change in a song contest and in winning a guitar…but yes seeing the joy that your music brings to people is very satisfying. I loved your honesty in your song . And love the great harmonies too John.

What a delightful surprise! I saw Batdorf & Rodney in 1975 opening act for Seals & Crofts at the Santa Barbara County Bowl! These two "long haired" lanky guys walked on stage and my Seabee brother and I looked at each other and said what! Then the most beautiful music begins and I was sold on the first note! I've introduced many people to the music of B&D over the years! The harmony and guitar are amazing 👏 seems like yesterday afternoon when we were young!
