I swear this guy owns Disk drill. He’s made countless videos about this software and its benefits and how awesome it is…… Unfortunately The comments on most videos seem to disagree though.

None of this worked 😢 i tried everything. Pluging it to a diffrent computer, changing the cable, all the commands, i just dont know what to do atp. I isn't a new disc. I had it for a year and it did not have any issues. Yesterday it randomly disapeared

what im finding is that disk drill is only showing files from the last couple of months, i was hoping to see images from at least start of 2024 till now that have been formatted from my sd cards

Am i wrong in thinking that back ups in Time machine can only be restored if they are the same MacOS ??? I have Sequoia installed but all my backups are with Sonoma and its not letting me restore. I'm too afraid to do a full restore and wipe everything,, if possible I just want to retrieve our family vacation videos from the emptied trash.... I know, I know.... bonehead move. Any advice much appreciated.

Time Machine backups are easier to restore on the same macOS version, which might be causing issues with Sequoia and Sonoma. Instead of a full restore, manually access the backup and copy your vacation videos. You can navigate the backup in Finder and search for the files. If that fails, try data recovery software to retrieve files from the emptied trash. Upgrading to Sonoma could also help with restoring the backup.

@@cleverfiles Thanks for the advice but the files were originally in my external HD and I cannot access that in the TM backup. I think I accidentally deleted the files from Itunes TV and it wiped them from my Exteranl HD. It seems only certain things are accessible in the back ups...

after windows made my sd card ("sd card has to be formatted" hee??.....official sandisk, no china fake) no more recognizable - for what reason ever- R-Foto did a good job retrieving my photos and videos...i can recommend it and its free of charge !

The recovery chances are slim, but it would not hurt trying Disk Drill.

VLC also works in fixing mp3 files. Repaired on yesterday in fact. When all else fails a command line program ffmepg works wonders. Just search for the problem and include ffmepg in the search and you will usually find a page that give you all the directives. For instance, say you downloaded a video that includes the closed captions and you don't want them. Open a terminal, (command prompt) and type: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v copy -c:a copy -s 0 output.mp4 and the output.mp4 will be your video without the closed captions.

And what do you do if your micro SD card is not detected at all? Like as though it’s not even connected to the device? I have two brand new micro SD cards that are not being detected by my daughters camera nor my laptop but the third micro SD card is detected so I know it’s not a problem with the devices but lies with the cards.

If your new micro SD cards aren't detected but other cards work, check their format (FAT32 or exFAT) and try a different card reader or adapter. Inspect the cards for physical damage. Test them in another device to confirm if they are faulty. If they still don't work, consider returning or replacing them.

Your pendrive's heating issue likely indicates a hardware fault, making repair and data recovery difficult. Stop using it to avoid further damage. While trying different USB ports may help, professional data recovery services are your best bet. If under warranty, contact the manufacturer, but they typically won't recover your data. Recovery is still possible with specialized tools.

Great tutorial! I was able to recover a corrupted MP4 video file using the methods you suggested. VLC Media Player worked well for minor issues, but Clever Online Video Repair was a lifesaver for a more severe corruption. However 5 gb limit might be an issue for somebody
