We sold the truck to my son-in-law three years ago. I happily would scratch on the points if the truck were on my property any longer. And by the way that's something that I did more than once. It was a great truck, great steel, a rotten bed, but a bulletproof engine and an exhaust manifold that you could not find for love or money. So ask me about welding cast-iron.

I get no prize for a four month delay and replying to a comment and an invitation to get together to play music. And the words "I apologize "seem inadequate. There was never any country in my world growing up to be Frank, is my musical mother rather looked down her nose at it and I sort of adopted that position myself, to my regret in adulthood. But now, I have room for some country in my world. I'm not claiming to be a cowboy, but I do have the hat and boots.

If by explanation you mean how this video is proceeding or was made then I'll give you a little insight. I played the first intro bar to show you that it was me doing it. It was recorded on the Looper at my feet which then plays it back as long as I want. On the computer screen is a piece of software that lets me record music. I have a digital interface between my guitar equipment and my computer. All of the stuff is very mysterious to me, but it's a ton of fun to play with. The last component is the podcasting software that I am using. Someday when I'm courageous enough I'll try and do a live broadcast, and in each case with each piece of software I am so far behind the curve it's embarrassing, but it's still fun.

Michael thank you for that and I appreciate you watching my videos. I have been wanting for years to dig into this truck, but I had or have not the right skills. I've got all the right tools, and I'm working on developing the skills. When I do and I think I'm getting closer, it's going to be a frame off restoration of this hot rod not an original Willys, with rebuilding the small block 350 part of the enterprise. I think I'm going to just try to refurbish what's there rather than upgrade dramatically, although you never know.

Could be a 262?
@JeremyWilson Жыл бұрын
David, my sincere apologies for not replying. Apparently, I still don't understand the technology. That truck has been moved from Western Washington to eastern Washington, and will ultimately be rebuilt with a Cummins diesel by our son. He is however busy raising a family and holding down the kind of job that travels a lot. I think you are however right and it was a 262. Thanks so much for watching the videos.
@davidtettleton2732 Жыл бұрын
Not much rust considering age and just normal paint. Maybe good steel?
@JeremyWilson Жыл бұрын
David, long story spanning the last couple of years. Short version is it over in eastern Washington near Spokane with our son, who wants to put a Cummins diesel in it, but has way too many other projects first in line. So it's still gone to a good home, it's still in the family, but it's going to be a few years. Short answer to your question is "yes, it's good steel" and thank you very much for subscribing and watching the videos
