Welcome back to Timestamp time! (All names are from google maps, no warranties) Today we are starting south of Ayase Bridge in the Sumida prefecture (35.74033189216862, 139.81662280522622). Just before the bridge is a righthand turn, following the channel, where the video begins. 0:00 SPEED (Intro) 0:48 Arriving at the Tobu Isesaki Rail-Line 1:57 Crossing the channel, with the "Sumida lock" on the right 2:10 Train arriving 3:00 Crossing the tracks 3:46 Filming a train leaving Horikiri Station 4:54 Riding along Arakawa River 6:22 Taking a photo of a residential building sticking out of the greenery 6:35 Concept of the trip 7:03 Bike shipping troubles 8:45 Public Bathroom getting snatched in front of our eyes 9:05 Rain talk 10:20 Pee break! 12:53 Driving past Rainbow Plaza 13:44 Plans for the next days 16:00 Plans for lunch 17:00 Jump cut to just south of Nishiarai Bridge, Pat just crossed the road and is heading west (Took me a while to figure that out) 18:03 Random people shouting. We are now just between the Sumida river (Behind the hill to the left) and Arakawa river 18:55 Train spotted on Arakawa bridge. This is apparently the Nippori-Toneri Liner, an "Automated Guideway Transit"... I don't think it's a monorail And we end the episode at 35.757193650464636, 139.76586718705684 further west of Arakawa Bridge

@@dozoboysNope, just as a reference guide for other people if they see something they like... I was more wondering how well I can track you through google maps and it was kinda fun matching the satelite view to your perspective, with fun insights seeing what some of the locations were... One park was affiliated with a forest preservation organisation and I didn't know Asahi Beer headquarters had this flame thingy... If you like, you can put these in the video description which will add chapters to the video (a 0:00 timestamp is necessary or else youtube won't display them). Feel free to change them how you like, some may be too long or have nothing to do with the current location

Welcome back! I'll be honest, I found you last season right at the very end, but I did not have the time to rewatch the previous episodes... So this time I guess, same goes to me: "Let's see how far I make it" I assume this is all prerecorded and the bike tour is already over, but I'm just gonna pretend that you started yesterday so: Have fun on your trip and have safe travels! this is so soothing :) I would love to travel like this but on a motorcycle. I have semi-plans to go to Japan and I want to explore stuff by just walking around the city (e.g. Tokyo) and going inside random places on my own but since I don't know the language, I feel like it would be very difficult to do that without making it uncomfortable and awkward for me or other (japanese) people so that makes me lose confidence in me just being able to actually explore and experience without limits. I'd love to hear if you have thoughts on how I could handle this predicament - maybe you were in a similar situation as I am in right now? (don't know if you know japanese)
@dozoboys
@dozoboys 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I have a few points that could help you: - Neither myself or my friend speak Japanese and we got on totally fine. I have been there three times and have never had an issue with the language barrier I couldn't overcome. We had a mechanical issue at one point, and were able to get it fixed at a bike shop that spoke zero English using only google translate and pointing. - I have learned the basics for interactions, ordering food and buying things, as those are the main points I am interacting with people verbally, but even this is not necessary. - For the most part, Japanese people are very accommodating, and will go out of their way to help you if you need anything, even if they can’t fully communicate with you. It may seen awkward, but just remember that in general they are just as self-conscious of their English as you are of your Japanese. - It was a bit scary for me to do a trip like this, where we truly did explore without limits, but in the end it was an absolutely amazing experience. Outside of the cities is such a special place, and there are so few tourists, that locals are generally intrigued and happy to see new faces.
Hope this helps!

I'm just curious, does your friend with the blue tires know that his saddle might be a little low? I don't know if you know about how saddle height affects your ride but if he raised his saddle he might be able to be more efficient and more power. Also having it too low can force your knees outwards and after a while it can make your knees sore. there should be good guides on youtube on saddle height.
@dozoboys

Really appreciate the comment. Sounds crazy but at the time I didn’t really realize it, but looking back on the footage, yes it’s definitely too low. I think the frame in general is too small for him. I’m actually buying a new bike, and going to give him my current one which should be a better fit.
