Are you able to get library books from Libby, hoopla or overdrive in to your kobo?

I’m torn between the Kobo Clara color and the Libra color. I’ve been reading off a Samsung tablet……,

Looking at getting my first but the Kindle isn't an option. If a book is available on one of these things, does that mean it's available on all of them? Sorry for the dumb question.

I’m currently saving up for the kobo libra color! I can’t wait to try something with buttons that I can annotate on. I am a highlight, underline, draw, and write kind of girl when I read. Can’t wait to get it.

I really wanted to get a kobo, but I ended up getting a kindle because I didn't wanna spend days converting my 100s of kindle books to regular epubs. This makes me wanna get one the next time I'm in the market for an ereader.

Thanks for sharing your kobo library 😊 My two doubts are me not reading fast enough to warrant a subscription (even though I’ve already added so many books on my wishlist that I’d want 😅) and that I believe you don’t get to keep your books if you cancel your subscription in the future? I am new to the ereading world But yea it is pretty cool to be able to check out as many as you want 🤩 It’ll be exciting to see which colour kobo you get 😊 I have the KLC and it is fun to the extra notetaking capabilities. I also got the kobo Clara BW and enjoying the cute small simple aspect to it.

I think I’ve hit my first slump.. I’ve started several but haven’t finished any. I’ve been pretty consistent on outlander book 2. Feels like a comfort read at this point. But I only get a chapter or two in before I fall asleep. Hoping to catch up on HP read along and join in on When the Moon Hatched.

For KU there's a way for you to limit your library to only show KU books. I used it to put all of mine in a collection lol

I’m having KZbin issues so I apologize if you get this twice. They have Kindle daily deals on their website, I have gotten books for $2-3, and I check it all most every day 😂

Search by author, genre or year. It would be easy to implement from a technical standpoint and a great feature for people with huge libraries (most Kindle users, or at least most big consumers for Amazon)

Can you not filter for KU when you're in your library? I only use KU when I'm reading that specific book right at that moment so I am unsure haha. However the buttons are why I'm most likely going to try out the kobo colour soon because I have nostalgia for buttons as I had one of the first nooks that were in a small form factor like the kindles we see now and there were buttons on both sides of the screen. I loveeeee tactile buttons.

On your Kindle you can create a collection/folder for your KU or library books. This video would make a nice tag, would love to hear other booktubers ideas.

And quite a few times I've seen paperbacks were actually cheaper than their ebook versions. That totally makes no sense!

Here in England we have 99p kindle books that change every month and daily deals which often have 99p books, yes the newer books are more expensive but not usually more than £9.99. I'm new to reading so not to fussed on newer books and just stock up on the 99p books. I also find alot of the KU books are cheap on their own too. I'm not the biggest reader so I go for cheaper older releases and they sometimes do newer one for 99p. I don't read enough to warrant paying for KU every month so these deals work out really well for me and if I stop buying for a while I will still have a library full of purchased books. From what I gather it's cheaper in England even if by a small amount.

Agreed…. Ebooks have gotten expensive, I like the idea of KUL and K+ automatically added to specific folder.

Hi! there's a way on your Kindle to filter books to just show books that you've checked out on KU. Not sure about Kobo though!

I absolutely agree that when we purchase an e book it is ours and if we chose to give it away we should be able to do that! How is Amazon getting away with that? I also remember when all e books were cheap like $1.99. If I remember correctly Apple and Amazon went to court about this issue.

Okay I have been recently wanting to buy a Kindle. I don't know which model to buy but I want one which can let me add my own pdf or my own books into the reading device. Can anyone recommend me a Kindle which let's me add my own books for free (ALSO I HAVENT DONE MUCH RESEARCH SO PLEASE DONT ATTACK 😭🙏) (if my English is bad I'm so sorry it's my 2nd language 😭)

I just bought the Fire 7 in Denim blue refurbished because they didn’t have the pink one in stock. But I’m very happy with it. It doesn’t have a lot of ram so if you don’t close out your apps. It will frees or slow down.

Hi Courtney! So, I'm old. I got into e-readers before the kindles came out. I would read on my palm pilot with books from the public domain. Then, I got the Sony eReader and bought some books on that. When the Nook Color came out, I bought that. Since it was basically just a tablet, there was a way to install a custom rom with android on it and install other apps. That was my first tablet. I've since become a kindle girlie (I have 3, the paperwhite signature, the oasis and a kindle touch 2). Basically I have books on all the different infastructures. I've had Amazon Fires in the past and I would side load the Google Store so I could grab the other apps for B&N, Kobo (that's where all my books from Sony went when Sony killed their e-readers.), Google Books, etc. I no longer have any Amazon Fires as I got an iPad pro a little over a year and haven't looked back. You're maybe wondering where I'm going with all this, well, you inspired my newest e-reader. I've been wanting an iPad Mini for my purse because my phone is getting harder to read (I'm old, remember?), but 1) another iPad is NOT in my budget right now, and 2) I'm an Android girl so I I'd prefer to stay in that infastructure. After watching your video and seeing how you were using your old iPads as dedicated readers I decided to dust off my OLD Samsung Galaxy Pro Tab 8.4" and charge it up. It started up great! The only problem was that they stopped updating it 10 years ago with Android 4 (for comparision we are up to Android 14) and I couldn't put any apps on it. So back to what I used to, see if there was a custom rom from the android community that I could install to update it. I found one and its now sitting here with Android 11 on it. I've been able to install all my reading apps and note apps on it, plus, it fits in my purse GREAT. I saw they had a clear case on Ali Express so I'm waiting on that no. Thanks for the inspiration! Hey Courtney! I have the Fire 8 so a little different but about it booting pages slowly. Do you regularly click on the square icon at the bottom that brings up apps that aren't shut down, then scroll all the way right until you see 'Clear All'? That speeds mine up a lot like brand new. I wish when we clicked on a new app it automatically shut down the ones we're leaving but if there's a setting for that I haven't found it. :( (oh and also disable notifications for every app it allows because that really throws a monkey wrench into booting the device!)
